Westland Express Insurance Services Limited

I have had home insurance through Westland for over 3.5 years now and they have been by my side at all times. I have changed my policy from a rental property to an owner-occupied property without issue. Communication has been stellar. Recently I was in touch with Alex and they were wonderful: quickly and kindly answering all my questions. I highly recommend this company.

I dealt with Rilanne this morning to cancel my insurance policy for a property I just sold. She was very responsive, patient with my questions and helpful with her advice. I am not often a fan of the chat as you sometimes wait long periods to sort out your issue, but this was a very positive experience! Thank-you Rilanne!

I had the pleasure of speaking with Rilanne who helped me cancel my policy in BC and create a new policy in MB. Since the process changed recently, she called me and walked me through every step over the phone. She was incredibly patient and answered all of my questions. Excellent customer service. 10/10

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. THEY WILL TAKE YOUR MONEY AND NOT GIVE IT BACK!! I had a tenant policy through ZipSure for the duration of my lease. When I was moving out, about a week before leaving, I submitted a cancel on ZipSure’s website. Shortly after that, Westland Express apparently bought the company. I noticed I had 2 payments coming out I advised Westland that those transactions were a mistake and that I cancelled my policy for Dec 22 (the day we left). They basically said they needed proof that I no longer lived there or they would not cancel my policy, which is ridiculous because I come from an insurance background so I know thats not the case, they can’t just hold my policy hostage.Regardless, I submitted a letter to them from the apartment we were living stating we had moved out, they rounded up to Jan 1, fine, okay. Then they stated they cancelled it effective Jan 1 with this letter: “ Thank you for providing the required documentation, once the policy ends on March 1 2023 we will go in and backdate the cancellation to January 1 2023 so you receive a refund back to your move out. This refund is issued manually and may take 4-6 weeks to be issued back to your billing details on file.”Cancelled on MARCH 1st?? It is clearly being backdated to January… how are you going to tell me it’s going to take 4-6 weeks to send me my money back when it never should have been taken to begin with???? Also….. 4-6 weeks for refunding to a CARD?? No. Anyone knows that a refund (especially to a card institution) doesn’t take WEEKS, sometimes it takes days.This is unacceptable. I told them that, they responded with this: “Refunds are processed after the policy expiry/cancellation date – the system has a March 1st 2023 expiration date so the refund will happen after March 1st; they are usually processed in the third week of the month.” We’re now looking at 2 months worth of insurance (charges that ultimately ended up overdrafting my account) not being given back to me. I’ve been dealing with my back on this and with Westland. With no response from them for a whole month I sent a message checking for this stupid refund and then they responded “ Your refund was delayed, we apologize, you will receive the refund in the beginning of April.”You’re kidding??? Still no money and I’m tired of fighting them privately. So if you’re looking for tenant insurance, do NOT go to Westland. They’re awful, they have NO semblance of customer service and they don’t care about their customers at all. Pick someone else

Theresa McCann Was very helpful and persistent in making sure I renewed my home insurance during a very busy work time for me. It was greatly appreciated as it meant I didn’t have a laps in home insurance coverage. Thanks you Theresa!!!

Their services are incredible, fast, convenient and very easy! Rilanne, from Westland Express Support was amazing at helping arrange my payment schedule and make changes to my policy. I 100% recommend this company and look forward to expanding my business with them!

Cancelled my coverage without even helping me. My card company was having technical issues and declined my automatic payment. I emailed Westland to inform them that I was working with the card to get things resolved. When the payment failed a second time a few days later and I still hadn’t heard back from them, I reached out again to ask for help making my payment. Instead, I received a phone call from someone who told me my plan was already cancelled and advised that I start a new plan. She was not professional at all and sounded as if she had no idea what she was doing. I updated my payment information that day and they took almost triple the amount they told me I owed. And after all that, they still cancelled my coverage. I won’t be using this company again.

I wholeheartedly recommend Westland Insurance Services Limited. Easy to set up, and they have a very responsive customer service. Tiffany promptly provided solutions to the issue i had when my bank asked me to make them 1st payee.

Billed twice in one month for same policy they have changed company namev3 times in a year and I get billed everytime they do and ask why they talk like I'm a broker and I dont understand anyway worst most confusing company I have ever dealt with would give 0 stars but not able to I pray u dont go thru these people and always have to leave message and wait a day for a callback horrible

First off, the star rating isn't a reflection of the customer service I received from Rilanne, which was 5/5, and full disclosure that I was asked to provide a review after the service call. Rilanne was great, and provided me with any answers she could give.Unfortunately the issue wasn't resolved. It started when I received an email saying a request was made to cancel my policy, but we made no such request. Turns out, due to some company changes, my Nuera Insurance policy got moved to Westland Express, so they are cancelling one to renew it elsewhere. That wasn't very clear to me. Next, since my policy was customized to include extras, not everything was transferred on a 1:1 basis (Westland Express can't cover added jewellery, for example). I was told I'd need to call their parent company, Westland Insurance, to get a new policy, and then cancel this new one that was setup. So, that's still pending, and I'm not even sure I'll be dealing with Express or their parent company when it's over.I think the whole switch from Nuera, to Westland Express, to the forthcoming Westland Insurance, plus having to switch websites to view my policy 3 times (from Nuera, to Westland Pocket, to Westland Dashboard) is confusing and cumbersome. I'm not even sure what ZipTenant is, but that name seems to be another company adding their name to the mix in my policy.Again, the support rep... 5/5.
