When in Calgary you must visit here! The children’s section is way over expectations and can spend a few hours here. Very relaxing and the atmosphere is very calming. Saw the library as our hotel was right beside it and had time to kill. Amazing~ will be back!

Beautiful library. It’s very well laid out, has excellent furnishing and amenities and has so many books that you can spend a whole day here without even knowing it.

Lovely place with clean modern interior. Whole building is mesmerizing to look at. There are lot of activities and paintings to look at other than looking at books. There is play area for kids and lot of kids activity. Plenty of seating area to study and work on assignments or read books. Very relaxing environment. Good place to hang out for all ages. Also it is close to other amenities.

I recently visited Calgary for a few days and the library was on my list of things I wanted to see. Absolutely gorgeous building with incredible natural light. The way the wood curves and bends it reminds me of driftwood that has been shaped by water and wind. It’s just a really beautiful building. I also noticed that they provide their patrons with a lot of rooms that they can reserve for meeting or community events, etc. Very cool place. If they had library merch I would have 100% bought something but I didn’t see anything.

Such a beautiful architecturally built library. The use of textures from the wooden panels and endless amount of natural lighting brings such a bright and spacious feel. The staff are so friendly and are more than happy to assist you with any needs and they maintain the library so well. Aside from the wonderful selection of books, there are many areas to study and a floor dedicated for the little ones to read and play. There are also many interactive areas throughout the library. The top floor is definitely one of my favorite places to study aside from a spot you can snag right along the window panes. Even aside from studying, I could truly spend hours in this library. The art and architecture give a whole new level on modern design and elegance. While still providing a place for many people and study and play.

Its one of the best place in downtown Calgary. Building is beautifully designed and all wooden interior makes is more soothing and natural. The variety of books is huge and multiple language available. Kids floor and multiple kid’s activities keep them engaged for long hours. And guess what the library is free for all the Calgarian. It’s nicely maintained and the staff at the library is super polite and helpful. Its my kids goto place anytime. You can borrow 21 books at time. And many more benefits are available as part of your membership of library and all this is for free. You also have study room work room and if you need meeting room those are available as well.I would say its good use of tax payers money. Kudos to people working at the central library l.

An incredible building which the city managed to build over and existing train underground access point, and which has won a great deal of architectural acclaim (and awards if I'm not mistaken). I once had a photoshoot done here for my music career, and after switching careers recently I had a meeting here in one of the meeting rooms with two members of my senior executive team. The meeting rooms are beautiful, the audiovisual functions well, the wireless internet connection is strong everywhere in the building (see pictured speed test), and they can even sign interface cables out to you (HDMI, etc) if you forget to bring one. Very friendly staff as well!

My favourite place in Calgary. Such a breathtaking and functional piece of architecture. Great selection of books, helpful staff, abundant seating for studying/working, and an array of events and services on offer make this the ultimate community hub for the city. The geese outside are also a plus!
