I absolutely can not speak highly enough about Whitney. This was my 4th baby. She was by my side every step of the way....from Friday when contractions started, to Monday morning when my baby was born. She made sure the nurses were Following my birth plan, if I could not. And supported any changes I decided to make. After what I felt was a perfect birth, she sent me the most beautiful birth story in writing. I am so blessed to have had Whitney by my side.

I was lucky to stumble upon Whitney’s doula services early in pregnancy. I was hesitant at first as I was unsure how a doula could help me. I chose to go with the “Everything but the birth” package. Through out pregnancy I was able to ask Whitney questions and embarrassing questions, about what was happening to my body. Whitney always so graceful would normalize my questions and always have an answer. Whitney gave me resources that she knew I would gravitate to to be able to educate myself more on the birthing and delivery process. Going into labour and delivery I felt empowered and confident to make the best decisions for baby and myself. Truth be told, I was going to wing it, glad I didn’t and that I found Whitney who supported and educated me and my husband lovingly throughout 9 months. We welcomed our first child at the end of March and we could not be more excited and in love.Thanks Whitney for all that you do for parents and babies on the way!

I had my second child with Whitney and Cydney as my doula about 2 months ago. I first connected with them at around 30 weeks and instantly knew that the 4 of us, my husband included, had a great connection. Having a doula with my first birth with whom My husband and I didn’t connect with as strongly, I knew how important this strong connection was to a successful relationship. I had initially been a bit hesitant on the structure they worked with while having one of them on call each week however that was never even remotely an issue. I always felt cared for and that they were in constant communication about who was handling what. Whitney and Cydney visited us multiple times at our home while we were pregnant and always worked with our hectic schedule to make these times work. They offered a supportive shoulder to both myself and my husband about the emotional and physical struggles of pregnancy during these sessions. Additionally, these ladies were only ever 1 phone call or text away for both of us. There strength, support and confidence in me helped me to feel strong and capable to attempt a homebirth.In the days/weeks leading up to delivery while I was in early labor they were always offering suggestions for easing discomfort, reminding me to rest, or just plain checking in on my mental state. Once I was in active labor and requiring a bit more help, Whitney (the doula on call that week) was over to our house promptly and immediately my husband and I felt a sense of relief come over us knowing Whitney (in conjunction with the midwife) would have a few more tips and tricks to help us through. Our baby was born in about 1.5 hours from when Whitney and our midwife arrived and she assisted my husband with filling our pool for the water birth, provided soothing counter pressure, encouraging words to help me through, and also many laughs. Once baby was born Whitney had to hang out with our older son who decided he wanted to meet the new baby right away instead of sleeping and then of course she helped clean up, make me a meal, start laundry, and of course tucked me into bed with promises of checking in on me later that day. When I got out of bed later that day you never would have guessed only hours earlier I had delivered a baby as everything was back to normal!My physical post partum journey was much easier than my first but my mental state was a bit shakey. As you may guess, Cydney and Whitney were incredible resources who frequently touched base via text or calls, sent food, provided appropriate suggestions and gave me a sense of community I did not otherwise have.I will never forget the emotions I felt with this birth - The calmness, strength and confidence I felt doing it at home. All of which I know were a direct correlation of the incredible team that was present - my husband, the midwives, and of course my doulas Whitney (and Cydney in spirit). If or when another baby comes around, these ladies will be one of my first calls. I would recommend them to anyone seeking a doula, and also encourage those who don’t think they need a doula to look into them also as they are an asset to your pre/post natal and birth experience!

Whitney was wonderful. I was a first time mom in the sense this was my first baby but also I was the first out of all my friends. She was supportive, knowledgeable, kind and always knew what I needed to hear. I remember she even dropped me off cake on my due date . She was super lovely also in the sense we debriefed after the birth and what happened . 11/10 recommend. Best decision me and my fainter of a partner ever made ❤️

Hiring Whitney at Down to Earth Birth Services was beyond a doubt the best decision I made for my birth. Her kindness, genuineness, professionalism and trauma informed approach all lead to my partner and I feeling fully comfortable and supported by her. She knew without me saying how my past birthing experiences was impacting my current pregnancy. She checked in often and made sure I was well informed of all my choices, even when my care provider was less forthcoming. With her guidance and support I was not only able to have a successful VBAC but also my dream birthing experience. My husband was also grateful for her as she was present throughout the entire active labour, delivery and beyond and helped show him ways to support me. Whether this is your first pregnancy or 10th, I cannot recommend her Services enough.
