Marden Tract
Nice easy trail, some nice native spring flowers to see.

Nice trail, completely flat and straight as an arrow. Need to navigate a few flights of stairs at the end of the ride if continuing on to West Montrose. There was also a fallen tree across the early part of the trail, but someone usually cleans these things up before long.

A lovely fall day in the woods hunting mushrooms. A quiet stroll. Parking was a premium but most went west on the Kissing Bridge Trail. Lots of downed ash trees.

Love, love, love this place in the fall. 5 minutes out of town for the most spectacular fall colours.

When I compare trails that I rated with 4 stars and this one then Marden Tract is firm at 3 stars. But for families with small children, older people and short walks lovers it might be better rated. In the forest part of the trail there are a lot of not-so-easy-to-notice tree roots and a bit protruding rocks that one can easily stumble upon, be careful, especially in the late fall when there are tons of leaves over them. Trail is almost completely flat, except for the forest part (approximately 1/3 of the trail length) the rest is covered with a gravel. Although map shows that if following north you can extend trail length at the 2 key points there were locked metal gates (No trespassing") so we sadly had to go back."

Wet and muddy trail but it's so beautiful and warm outside.

The mosquitoes here are killer and it is a rather short trail but it's fantastic for being rather remote and quiet. You dont tend to see a lot of people here which is good if you're looking to get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.

Kinda short hike. Path is flat and straight. Couldn’t enjoy it much since we were surrounded my mosquitoes. I sprayed myself and still got a few bites! I guess mid August is not a good time to hike there.

Great trail. Someday I hope to walk all the way to Montrose Kissing Bridge on it! Very peaceful stroll.

Beware: Extremely buggy in late May - early June. It's a short hike in and out again. Nice maturing hardwood forest. I suggest hiking it in fall, after a frost, and when the maples turn colour.
