I have mixed feelings with this place. Heard great things about them (from Japanese friends + media). But my first impression was underwhelming. The day we went, their chef was working on that day or something, which restricted you from ordering sushi dishes. I ended up ordering the tofu hamburger and it was kinda hard and dry. My partner liked the teriyaki chicken & salmon but said it was nothing special. The salad dressing tasted very store-bought. Will be a long time before I feel like trying them again.

Tl;dr - not what it used to be.Arriving for dinner, the restaurant staff were unprepared and disorganized. They provided us 2 sets of “daily special” menus which were supposed to be the same, but had different items on it. Only after the food arrived and after asking the server we learned that one of the yakitori options listed was not available. The remaining dishes were mostly misses: a Salmon Saikyoyaki set (dry and overcooked), Teriyaki Chicken set with inari (inari was way too salty), clam miso soup (tasted fishy and we had some dead clams), and deep fried soft shell crab (great tasting crab but the sauce was too salty). This place used to have some of the best grilled fish in the city, especially the black cod. We were told that it was not in season but afaik black cod is available year round…

Arrived at 5PM, waited about 40mins to get my food which was a bit too long.Daily Special fish set was great! But you have to be there early to order it. The table next to me arrived around 6pm and the daily fish set were sold out.Unagi(eel) was from frozen, and with common unagi sauce. Sauce was a bit too sweet for me, but surprisingly it covered the fishy odor.Tempura udon was pretty ordinary. Similar to most Japanese restaurant.I may come if I live close by. Not worth to get there for driving over 30mins. And there will be some waiting time after 6PM.

I recommend their set meal, especially BBQ fish one!! That’s my favourite! Also steamed clam cooked with Sake(Japanese rice wine) was excellent!!Very authentic Japanese dishes and great customer service. I recommend you to reserve the table before you dine in. They are very popular and sometimes if you don’t reserve it, you might need to wait for over half hour to dine in. However, it is worth waiting for!!焼き魚定食が人気。安定の味。

The pork fillet cutlet was great. The tofu beef hamburger was not as good compared to other dishes.

Nice little sushi shop tucked away in the neighborhood. Food tasted good. The tempura and karaage were crispy but I feel some of the rolls had maybe a tad too much sesame sprinkled on top.

My only complaint is the poorly written hand menu which actually was funny as well. Place felt small but cozy and welcoming. Reservation appears to be a must otherwise expect long wait time or you will be asked to come back. Food are the shining point. True Japanese authenticity. Price is fair and service was exceptional. We will definitely return to try other menus.

Really cute Japanese place! Feels like you are in Japan. The service was awesome. The food taste like home cooked meal. A little bland tasting for my liking.
