I used to go there every time when car need to work to be done but last time I did the brakes and they told me lifetime warranty when I went next time they charged me thousand dollar. I keep calling them they keep telling me they will call me back they never did, so I don’t suggest anybody to go there !

I am a Midas in Toronto fan & was really in awe with Midas on 1654 O'Connor drive & the way they would listen to each customer & then advise on a solution to fix cars. Relocated to Halifax - I visited Midas on Robie Street. I had the most pathetic experience speaking to John (apparently the owner). I tried explaining to him the problem i was facing with my car but he refused to listen to me. John was rude & very argumentative. It seems like his mentality is more on making money rather than making good customers. 1) i tried explaining to him about my loose parking brake that was promised to be fixed but he refused to acknowledge the problem - He told me that the brakes had not been touched & refused to listen. 2) I had a brand new set of headlights that i requested him to kindly fix - John refused to take on that job stating that I had to buy the bulbs from him - only then would he fix it - This definitely seems to be a money making racket. 3) I would have definitely wanted him to check under the car for any engine oil leak BUT because of his argumentative mentality and rude behaviour I would definitely NOT go back to his shop.I cannot trust him as I am not sure - he could fix something & damage something else. I have lost trust in Midas on Robie Street because of John's rude & pathetic attitude. As long as Dave was employed in his shop - I trusted Midas and knew that he would first listen to the problems the customer was facing & then take care of fixing the car. Sorry John - you are not like that. I am not coming back

The first morning I brought my car in for my appointment they cancelled as they were still working on another vehicle. The second morning they refused to do the MVI and my oil change because my drivers side window needed a repair. I was aware that this needed to be done however they would not provide me with a failed MVI or do the oil change as my current MVI was slightly expired. Both the mechanic and the male receptionist were exceptionally rude and condescending. The first day the receptionist had asked me in a smug tone if I “knew how to check my oil”. I found both men to be chauvinistic and it made me wonder how things would have went if my boyfriend had brought my car in instead. I will never return to this Midas and I am highly disappointed when the lack of professionalism. I understand that my MVI was expired by a week- I was ok with getting a rejection sticker because I needed my oil changed in order to drive the couple hours to my mechanic who would be doing the minor work required to successfully pass a MVI. Being a shift worker and trying to get work done when not having much time off is exceptionally difficult.

Charged me $70 dollars for just checking out what’s wrong with my car AC. Other repair shops do it for free. Not going back for sure.

Took my 2017 Golf in to fix an exhaust leak. They fabricated a pipe into the muffler and fixed it for just under $400. They did more research and found there was no aftermarket, and a full replacement exhaust system from VW would be in the thousands. Prompt service, fair evaluation, and sharing of tech knowledge. Thumbs up!

I have gone to this Midas for over 20 years. What keeps me coming back is the fantastic service I always receive. Not only from the guys doing the work but also from the two funny gentlemen at the desk. I have and will continue to recommend people to use them because I feel comfortable with them and know they are always making sure I get the best deal.

Midas has taken care of my vehicles for years. John and Dave are great and have always treated us fairly. Lucky to have a local business we can trust!

Just got my Chrysler oil changed today was happy with that. I saw this later and driver aide was having oil marks and car was perfectly clean before that. The person who drove in/out was not wearing any gloves.

John and the Midas crew are the best of the best.Always fast to respond, always open and transparent, and more importantly honest about what needs to be done, what might be avoided and what the best course of action is.Comparing this to any other mechanic I've been to is just night and day.

Before purchasing a used car an out of town mechanic said I needed an oil change and the next up would be the brakes. I figured I may as well do them both at the same time. I dropped my car off and they didn't do the brakes, just the oil change. They said I could get at least 8 more months out of the brakes and there was no need to do them yet. They could've taken me for hundreds and I would've had no idea. I wish more businesses understood that stuff like this keeps customers loyal. He even took 10 minutes to explain all the basics about brakes. I'll be a customer for life now.
