Birchwood Dairy Farm

The ice cream here is for sure the high light of this establishment and is very good, but I'd like to highlight some of the other items sold here. The fudge is always high quality, and their milk and cream are great. Overall, an awesome spot to visit.

I had been looking forward to trying Birchwood Dairy for lunch for a couple of years. Every time I drove by there was a lineup. Their website doesn't have lunch menus or lunch hours, other than some old photos on different other review sites.Google said it was less busy than usual at 1:30 PM this past Canada Day, so I drove out from Vancouver. When I got there at 2:45 PM, I had to drive around their parking lot for 15 minutes to get a free parking spot. Then I got in the line-up for the restaurant and got to the counter at 3:15 PM, after another 15 minutes in that line.I wanted a sandwich, but their blackboard said lunch was over at 2PM (previous web images showed 4PM). So I couldn't get lunch, then when I asked for the lactose free vanilla (which they have listed on their web site), the server simply said we are not serving that today". That was their only option for people that can't take lactose.So I ended up wasting 2 1/2 hours to drive out

Ice cream was tasty. And it was a very cool experience to see the cows get milked. Definitely a fun place to take your family.

Ice cream maybe great but I tried to buy few local potatoes that states 0.65 per pound. So cashier first charged me $2.60Then she had doubt and looked up again the calculator. Finally that roughly less than two pound potatoes costs $4 something what the …So, I didn’t take those expensive potatoes after having ice cream cones in the shop.

Birchwood Dairy Farm was just an “OKAY” for us. It was a quick stop during a warm day after we visited the Flower Park. It was fairly priced, that’s a good thing, but I think we’ve had much better tasting ice cream. The service was great though! Everyone was friendly. Free tasting was also a plus!
