I feel that I was sold poor quality, ill-suited skates in place of the brand I originally intended to purchase. At the time, the ones I wanted were on back order & it’s my belief that the owner took advantage of my lack of wherewithal & eagerness to begin skating to sell me not what was best for my needs or what I originally contacted them for, but instead what was available at the time based on their own inventory. I trusted their expertise but ultimately left feeling really taken advantage of & manipulated. I resold the skates only weeks after purchasing because they were not equipped to handle the terrain I intended to skate- upon conducting my own research I realized that I had been mislead regarding the quality & suitability of the skates I had purchased.I later stopped by Bad Girlfriend Skates in Morinville & had a completely different experience. They have WAY more stock on hand & were overall more pleasant to work with. I left with exactly what I was looking for (the skates I originally went into Toe Stop for) & would suggest to anybody to make the drive there instead.My experience at Toe Stop overall felt shady & unethical & I regret ever trusting the owner with such a large, meaningful purchase. If you decide to check it out, I suggest doing your research beforehand & bringing a friend.

The most amazing experience getting my first skates today. What a super sweet women and a sick shop. Showed me the budget buys as well as the next step up, super helpful in sizing me for all my gear. Great conversation and super clean/safe! Thanks so much I recommend this spot to everyone.

I just bought my daughter her first pair of skates, a helmet, and protective pads. I was able to speak with Claudia on the phone beforehand, and she clarified sizes/fit and answered all my questions. My daughter LOVES the new gear, and everything fits perfectly. Thank you, Claudia...we will definitely shop again soon!

Ordered a pair of Chaya Voyager skates online and they're exactly what I hoped for - thank-you Toe Stop! You'll absolutely be my first shop-stop in the future for any skate needs. For anyone reading reviews before purchasing from Toe Stop, especially those of you purchasing online like I did because you don't live near the shop, their website is accessible, efficient and what's pictured online is exactly what I promptly received in the mail. I used the website's sizing recommendations and ordered a pair of skates that fit more comfortably than any pair of shoes I own. Totally looking forward to a summer of commuting to work on my skates!

Excellent customer service and super nice owner. She was so helpful with my skate purchase, and all my questions leading up to my decision. She went above and beyond my expectations. Definitely visiting again for future purchases.

Claudia was so helpful while trying to outfit my daughter with roller skates. We booked a time online and it was well worth a bit of a drive to visit in person. I could not believe the variety of stock that she had in Edmonton. I love supporting a local business!

Absolutely thrilled with their selection, prices and customer service! I don’t know how but they had a couple Moxi Classic Gummi wheels still in stock, I have been looking for them for weeks and they are sold out everywhere! I ordered some purple ones and Claudia messaged me to let me know that she only had one pack left but had some green ones, I had a feeling this could happen due to everyone being sold out and honestly was expecting there to be none left at all. Decided to be spunky and get one pack of green and one pack of purple. Claudia replied back agreeing that it would be a good colour combo and said the order will be shipped tomorrow!Shocked by how fast she has put together the order and gotten it ready to ship, I was expecting it to take a few days since skate shops have been pretty busy. Also think she’s stayed at the store a while later to get the order ready as she messaged me after store hours, this shop truly goes above and beyond.Everyone needs to check out this skate shop! I wish I moved to Edmonton instead of Calgary so that I could visit in person, I guarantee I would leave with a million different colours of wheels and laces. I will have to plan a trip once covid is over!Also dog friendly??? And open late??? Yes please

Bought my first pair of skates ever here and the owner was so helpful! I have pretty bad feet (bunions and joint issues) and was having trouble finding info online elsewhere but one call to the shop and the owner let me know which brands had soft shell boots and were good for wide feet! Ended up buying the Chaya Sunset Beach and they are soooo comfy, pictured after using them (note for anyone that's planning on falling, buy some toe covers so you don't scratch your beautiful skates!). Highly recommend!
