Tanglewood School

The staff were warm and supportive to help a 3-year old adapting to a brand new environment. The mid-term and year-end evaluations were comprehensive and provided us a good picture of how our little one is progressing from all aspects. We also like the extended hours and the hot lunch provided, which was a must for us.The only thing was that our little one got sick twice from school while she barely gets sick since born, never during vacations or weekends/holidays; so there could be some improvement on preventing all sorts of virus spreading in the classroom.Regardless, we're grateful to have chosen Tanglewood as the very first school for our daughter. Thank you for everything.

We sent our 3 year old daughter here and we have nothing but great things to say about the school and the teachers. The teachers (Ms. Maureen and Ms. Syeda) were incredibly patient and caring to each student and we found that our daughter learned so much during her year there. Now that she’s in a public school we find that what she learned at Tanglewood was more advanced in comparison. Not only was she learning regular academic subjects but also practical life skills which has proven to be very helpful in our home life. In addition I want to say the school director Ms. Meera is exceptional at her job. She had the difficult task of navigating a school during the pandemic and she did so with efficiency and transparency. We felt very comfortable sending our daughter there because of the measures taken to keep her safe during the pandemic. We also want to mention that there were a few instances when our daughter complained about another student’s behaviour towards her. It was enough for us to bring it to the attention of her teachers and Ms. Meera. The way they handled these situations was very professional and we appreciated their efforts to make our daughter’s learning environment feel safer. Even after some time had passed they still followed up with us which was beyond what I expected. Overall we are extremely pleased with the school and we would highly recommend it to anyone considering Montessori.

We were part of the Tanglewood family for nearly five years with both of our boys attending the program. The Director Ms.Meera and staff created an exceptional environment for our children to grow, learn and thrive in.Both our boys thrived at Tanglewood with their Montessori philosophy and approach to learning. Having left Tanglewood, our boys transitioned into their elementary school with breeze and continue to thrive with the skills that Tanglewood provided them with.The school is staffed with very warm and caring teachers who have a passion for nurturing children.We highly recommend Tanglewood!Tanglewood is truly Oakville's best kept secret in childare!

Tanglewood was like home for us and our daughter. The employees are all the most wonderful, caring and skilled individuals. They welcomed us and helped us settle as new immigrants. Our daughter made great strides and continues to benefit from the strong foundations laid at Tanglewood!!

Tanglewood was our safe place! Our daughter started during the pandemic, and I was very apprehensive. Miss Meera, Miss Maureen, Miss Syeda, and all of the staff were wonderful. They made our daughter feel so safe and welcome. Their kindness and attentiveness made for the best experience we could have hoped for. Our daughter still talks about Tanglewood, her old teachers, and the friends she made there. We plan to send our second child there when the time comes!

Our son and daughter both attended Tanglewood for a couple years and we noticed a significant decline in the quality of care and facilities. At first, we were attracted by the home away from home feel, the beautiful outdoor space and the great educators. Ms. Meera was great at the beginning of Covid, greeting the families each morning and they had strict procedures in place. By January, 2023, families were still not allowed in the building and had to abide by 15 minute pick up / drop off slots and they are extremely inflexible with policies. At this point in time, they had not opted into the provinical childcare program and we have no issue with their fees but as a business, they need to provide services that can justify it. When we escalted our issues to the owner, our concerns went unheard and she didn't take the time to respond. She never seems to step up and support the school at times of need. It doesn't take much research to see their is a disconnect between the owner, her staff and families. I am also concerned about their 5 star reviewers that immediately follow their 1 star reviews.It is so unfortunate that I feel I have to write this review as we recommended many famalies to Tanglewood and we continue to hear of families leaving and disappointed in the quality of care. Tanglewood essenitally forced us to look for new childcare and we couldn't be happier with our new childcare center where our child is now thriving.

I can't say enough great things about the amazing staff at Tanglewood. From Ms. Meera's personalized greeting each morning (knowing the names of students and caretakers), to the passionate, patient, and loving educators, Tanglewood is a treasure.As a parent of twins, I was especially grateful for the effort they made to understand my girls' individual personalities and interests, providing tailored support and encouragement. A year later, we still hear stories about Ms. Maureen and Ms. Syeda's class". Highly recommended."

Highly recommend. Our daughter is not an eater and it's a daily struggle; and yet she would often come home from Tanglewood raving about the lunch she had and how good it was. The playground is shaded with mature trees, which is an added benefit knowing your child will be outdoors for a considerable amount of time, especially in the summer; and the teachers are great. Overall an excellent school.

We sent our son to Tanglewood for over 4 years and could not be happier. It really is great place, and what makes this school so special is it's staff. They are professional and caring and attentive to detail. The classrooms are organized, clean and have a welcoming environment. The school's playground also is a lovely place for the kids to run around, play and have fun.Being at Tanglewood our son has learnt a lot and also seen him grow to be curious and compassionate. A special thanks to all the teachers and staff at Tanglewood!P.S. He still misses Miss Patti's cooking!

Both our children have attended Tanglewood. Warm, caring staff that learn to embrace the unique traits of each child! Good food and excellent variety of activities. Regularly post pictures of kids and provide detailed logs of activities during the day.
