The WORST customer service I have experienced at a Roots store ever!!!! This store was not busy at all at the time I went to shop. There were ladies standing around the cash register area and one lady putting on tags.I went to buy a gift for a family member and needed clothing in men’s sizes in Large and Extra Large. This was the very time I was NEVER able of those sizes in Roots t-shirts, hoodies and zip-up sweaters!!! They had so many selections and the racks were full of clothing that were only xs, s and m. No L and XL.It was so frustrating so I approached the ladies at the cash register and asked if they had any stock in the back. They responded rudely saying, “Whatever is on the floor is whatever we have.”Then I approached the lady putting on tags and asked, and she checked the back and told me they don’t have any of those sizes. She said “We don’t typically sell in those sizes so we don’t order them. We only carry sizes that sell fast.”WOW! For Roots to be such a big brand, and only carry certain sizes that sell fast is very disappointing. Even if they don’t sell fast, they should still carry at least a small stock in all sizes that fits all!Unbelievable! The worst customer service and experience at this store. Avoid it!

This place is a waste of time. Very rude staff, absolutely no customer service. I will never go there again. I live in Ajax and I will go to the Oshawa or Scarborough location. I see this place closing soon based on the customer service and these reviews. It won't survive times like this, with people like those working there.

I visited this store within the last couple days and the staff there are lovely. Someone said hi when I walked in and told me about their new items and the BIG sale area. Everyone walking around was so nice and the whole visit was pleasurable. This is the only location I'll be going to from now on!

definitely should have checked the reviews before planning a job interview with these people. i confirmed with lady on the phone the time of the interview, twice before coming in for it. was told that i was late and to have a nice day.. when i was 10 minutes early to my confirmed interview time.. very rude and disrespectful tone. if only they knew about what i went through to make it to that interview in time, just to be shut out like that.

Best dresses available in this store. Love this store, always find great deals and the sales staff are always polite and helpful.

I would put zero stars if possible. Read all the comments from other customers all are true. Very rude staff. It’s Christmas? No music playing , no one greeted you to enter, long line up and you can tell the staff didn’t want to be there. Closing was at 8pm so as soon as customers started coming in close to closing they would yell out from the cash register that we are closing in 13 minutes? What’s that? Then they did it with everyone who stepped foot through the door. This is roots? Do you not have a manager and rules? Won’t go in there again.

this is the worst roots location i’ve been to the employees that work there are a bunch of high school kids that have no sense of customer service no one greets you when you enter or offers to help you. You can see them chatting amongst themselves in the corner they are unfriendly rude and make you feel like you’re a bother. They forgot to remove the security tag on my child’s pants and asked me for a receipt which makes no sense because i purchased it a month ago and who keeps receipts that long and they did not even offer to provide a contact number or even get customer service on the line to assist me they just want you out of the store asap. I hope something gets done about this asap and they can hire proper staff.

This is my review on my first experience at thislocation.Staff: overstaffed for the amount of people walking into the store. I was the only customer in the store and no one greeted me or explained any promotions. I admit I don't often like when the staff bombard customers with their promos, however, in this case I specifically came in because of their winter sale.Customer service: poor. The manager on duty at the store was very rude to the staff member who helped me. She seemed very overconfident and although saw me waiting at the cashier desk, did not bother to ask if I needed help to purchase all the items I had in my hand. Instead, she looked behind her for the staff on cash to come back from clearing the fitting room to help me. She didn't even tell the other 2 staff members who were having a personal in depth conversation about their life on work time, to come help the only customer in the store (me).The male staff member was the only person who actually helped. He seemed to be doing everything, answering phones, clearing fitting rooms, cashing out people. He was very helpful. I would rate his customer service a 4 star.Price: $$Environment: cleanOverall: I probably will not go back to this store. If it was not for the male staff member who was somewhat helpful, I probably would not have purchased anything.Customer service does need improvement.

Very poor experience. The person in the reception was soo rude to mee..it was not like they were super busy only 2 customers in the store ..the girl has a different level of attitude in her tone even though I told her that you need to work on your attitude this not the customer service people are looking..Very rude. unprofessional

Absolutely rude!!! Website and store recording say they store opens at 9:30 on Saturdays. After sitting in the parking lot waiting for over 20 minutes, the store manager arrived and answered our call, was not pleasant and offered no compassion or understanding as to their false advertising. Will never return. Don’t waste your time. Pay the price and go to the main store for better service.Based off of previous reviews, it seems like the blanket response of “sharing the feedback with our team” when they get a poor review is lip service. Customer experience and service is what makes or breaks people returning. When the management is rude, it becomes an acceptable behaviour of the staff which appears to be the case. We will be happy to spend our money elsewhere. Not a proud Canadian brand.
