Clifford E. Lee Nature Sanctuary
Excellent place for an easy and accessible spring/summer/fall nature walk. The majority of the loop is boardwalk, which is well maintained by the volunteers. It does get quite icey in the winter. It is a very popular place so parking is usually full on weekends and some evenings. Be sure to check the website guidelines before visiting, as this beautiful site requires care & respect!Don't forget to bring binoculars!

Beautiful little area off the main highway. Cleared trails as well as a boardwalk that is kept clear of snow as best as possible, but some spots do have build-up. Cute in winter with lots of birds to see. Can only imagine how lovely it would be in the spring/summer/fall. Will be back.

I recently visited Clifford E. Lee Nature Sanctuary and had a wonderful time walking along the boardwalk and feeding the birds. It was such a peaceful and serene experience, with ducks swimming in the water and squirrels and chickadees being fed from the hand. The sanctuary is a true gem in the early spring aside from the lack of leafs, and I would highly recommend a visit. I will definitely be going back!As for other similar places to visit near Clifford E. Lee Nature Sanctuary, you might enjoy checking out the Botanical Gardens or the Elk Island National Park. Both offer great opportunities for nature walks and wildlife viewing.

Gorgeous boardwalk trail. Stroller and kid friendly. Lots of wildlife and scenic lookout points. Will definitely need to come back in summer!

Great place for birdwatching. so far, my favorite place to go.Lots of waterfowl, chickadees and other birds. Also, the plants are pretty interesting here as well.I wouldn't recommend bringing children here, as they can be annoying especially when they are loud (I often try to find birds by listening for them, having a kid around makes it harder as they are quite noisy)In the summer, this is a great place for finding white throated sparrows, I always found multiple whenever I visited. If you visit, please read the guidelines first, it's annoying to see people break them.(Photos attached are from separate visits)

We absolutely love coming here. The boardwalk offers great views and there's always some wildlife around even in winter. Plenty of parking too and the whole trail takes about 20 minutes to complete the loop if not stopping too much. This Sunday we got super lucky and saw a moose right by the trail!

Tons of birds, esp in the lakes! Also picnic benches, a beautiful boardwalk, and even a public telescope for viewing the lake. Very well maintained, clean, and lovely!!Also lots of saskatoon and raspberries along the path.Trails are pretty short (we went on all trails and took lots of stops, and spent roughly 1 hr there), but lots to see. Nice to visit if you’re in the area. Family friendly if everyone is prepared for mosquitos.(Just make sure you use bugspray in advance. Literal clouds of mosquitoes)

Amazing place that is funded by donations. Boardwalk is in fairly good condition. Some of the viewing platforms were blocked off. Good variety of birds were viewed today!
