ML Construction

We retained ML Construction to completely renovate our main and en suite bathrooms and to replace the gas fireplace in the living room (including constructing a new hearth). Our experience was overwhelming positive from start to finish. Martin provided a detailed, itemized quote and stayed to it to the decimal. He was professional and reliable, he was always on site at the time he had promised, and he showed a meticulous attention to detail in even the smallest components of the work. Similarly, he retained excellent sub-contractors – plumber, electrician and tiler – and worked well with a company we had hired to complete some of the stone-work (despite that company's inability to keep to a schedule). Martin and his contractors were also diligent with cleaning up the work site at the end of the day. We recommend him highly for any renovation job you might consider.

I am happy to give a very positive review of Martin and ML Construction.We hired Martin for our renovation project which included our kitchen and 3 bathrooms. The scope included opening up a load-bearing wall between the kitchen and dining room, and adding a new shower to our main floor powder room. We are extremely happy with the results, and all the credit goes to Martin.He pays meticulous attention to detail, his pricing is extremely fair, and he is knowledgeable and experienced. He is also a great communicator, and we were always in the loop on everything going on with our project. He is a great project manager, working only with the best trades people and staying on top of every situation.Perhaps best of all, as we got to know him over the course of the project, he became a welcome sight in our home, becoming like a member of the family. I hit it off extremely well with Martin, as we have similar senses of humour and we could both laugh off the stresses of a major renovation project and some of the ‘unique’ personalities we had to deal with (like the ones who overspray onto walls or cancel inspections 3 days in a row). My wife came to rely on Martin’s advice for everything and he became very adept at predicting what our different opinions would be. Even our parrot Grumpy (who is very well named) came to like Martin. Grumpy wanted to write his own review but instead he started pulling the keys off the keyboard. We were one of Martin’s first clients and he renovated our bathroom which had a lot problems. He was very good about getting it done in a timely period of time as well did follow up after job was done .and he did a great job. we recommended to others and still do. He also was great with our animals.

We hired Martin Poznanski and ML Construction on the recommendation of our friends who spoke highly of the work that he did on their renovations.We have been very satisfied with the quality of work that was provided in renovating our ensuite, repairing water damage in our dining and kitchen areas, and repairing and updating two other washrooms.Martin minimized dust and debris from demolition, construction and finishing work and he always kept us apprised of any changes in schedule and plans. In our numerous discussions together, improvements to original plans were undertaken with both parties having a clear understanding of what the new work would be and what materials, labour, and expense would be expected. We moved from the UK and bought a house just over a year later. Being new to Canada, we fell into the trap of hiring unscrupulous contractors who were not concerned about quality, even for simple things, additionally they were lacking in know how. There are no regulations or qualifications that make someone a contractor, and finding a good one involves navigating through a minefield.We were lucky to find Martin, and our renovation was both big in terms of monetary value and also required permits for a legal suite. The jobs for plumbing, electricity, dry walling etc. were lengthy and complex. Martin's dedication to his craft, his organized and systematic execution of the various stages, and his meticulous attention to detail was unparalleled. His ideas and expertise further contributed to a successful renovation. We have asked Martin back several times for various other things e.g. fireplace surround, and Martin also made the most intricate daybed with storage that every visitor compliments- the whole of the interior and the flooring was done by Martin. Finally, Martin has an easy going and likeable personality.

We retained Martin, ML Construction, over the winter to convert a tired old bathroom in our house to a stylish modern spa-themed one complete with a steam shower. We chose ML Construction because Martin previously had done such a beautiful job when he did the renovations of two other bathrooms and our living-room fireplace hearth. He is notable in his field for his detailed estimates (they detail the exact cost of each component of the work), his excellent sub-trades, and his commitment to the schedule (or at least letting us know well in advance when there would be a delay). His final work product had always been excellent.While we had him here, we decided we wanted him to take care of a few other items – the installation of a new front door and trim, the repair of some water damage above our front deck – that he was able to fit into his schedule for us. All of his work was top notch, reasonably priced, and completed on time.Highly recommended, but book well in advance because, with these skills and his reputation, he is busy.

Renovation of 1 bedroom condo.Martin has done an incredible job redoing my whole apartment. He was totally dedicated to the project. His attention to detail and the quality of his work is amazing. I couldn't be happier with the outcome. He was available and accountable for his sub trades and his people were excellent. He is a very good communicator. He is thoughtful and helpful and a joy to work with. I look forward to my next project using Martin again. I highly recommend ML Construction!

Martin did a great job of rebuilding our sun deck. He was knowledgable and very conscientious about his work and we always felt we were in good hands. We will most certainly look to him for further work that we need done in the future.
