Louisbourg Lighthouse Trail
Great trail to walk. It can get a bit sketchy in parts, so need to be very aware at all times. Parts of the walk way has been damaged due to recent storms. Wold be very difficult for elderly, or disabled people. People with children would definitely need to keep a very close, watchful eye.

We walked this trail right after a Noreaster storm, so the seas were especially strong and the waves crashing on the rocks were spectacular. This trail is well maintained and an easy walk. Just over 3 Km for the first loop, but you can extend the walk after you come to a stony beach if you continue to the left. There is no washroom at the start of the trail, but there is one a bit before you come to the Lighthouse. Definitely a trail worth walking.

This is a must do trail for anyone who loves in the area or looking to visit! One of our absolute favourites. Be sure to pack water a sweater and sunscreen. The fog rolls in quickly here but the weather can change in a dime. Along the outer perimeters of the trail there isn’t much coverage; and so, be such to take caution and apply sunscreen because you’ll likely get a sun burn. Also the trail goes much further than the rocky beach where most folks stop, but be careful if it rains it often does not dry up as quickly along the enclosed wooded trails so it can become swampy, muddy, messy etc. — but always fun!

This is an absolutely amazing place. So rugged and the waves crashing on the rocks is quite impressive. The trail follows the coastline closely and the view is dynamic. It is well groomed and has little benches placed along the way. Definitely worth visiting!

A beautiful scenic walk along the shoreline with fantastic ocean views and of course a rustic amazing lighthouse. There is a leisure 1.5 km hike and a more challenging trek beyond that for more experienced hikers!

A spectacular fall day hiking this trail; I was the only person who hiked out to Lorraine Head the day I was there...beautiful rugged scenery. Not a particularly difficult hike.

Must visit. The trail is easy to do. If you go all the way, you can get to the water. We visited in August and the water was quite cold.

Be prepared for some wind! This spot is breathtaking; I never tire of it. Especially lovely to watch the evening sun dip west of the lighthouse, on the Fortress side of the harbour (but make sure you get off the trail before dark). The main trail is wheelchair accessible, though it can continue on quite far as more of a game trail to Gooseberry Cove if you cross the pebbly beach at the end.

Love the place. It is gorgeous on any picture shooting here. Dark blue sea with strongly white waves continuously crashing on the rocky shore. Lighthouse looks lonely but stunning, especially in evening sunlight. The wood walk-broads are really cute and benches along the trails are really useful and comfortable. That is not mentioned that there are lots of cranberry red-riping around the lighthouse's standing area in October is interesting for someone love natural foraging activity.
