Southwest Dog Training

Devin’s Southwest Dog Training was an all around great experience as it provided with many simple yet effective tricks and exercises that helped us train our dog, Brew much faster than we expected. Devin was very playful while instructing Brew, while also providing very efficient training with each lesson.

AMAZING !!!We did the Talented Teen class for 5 weeks and Devin was exceptional. Always listening to our needs and answering emails about any questions we had.The class was exactly what we needed and gave us the right tools to make our dog behave well ! There’s still some minor work to do but with this class we’re definitely on the best track !

I am so so pleased with our experience with Southwest Dog Training. Devin is very kind and patient and very clearly understand and loves what he does. We took the puppy class package with one private home session and it's really made a world of difference with our puppy, Indie. Not only has it helped with her behaviour, it also gave me and my husband valuable tools to better understand how to train and practice good habits with our pup outside of class. I would highly recommend Devin to any new dog owner. We will likely take Indie back to the Teen classes!!

Devin is awesome! Super knowledgeable, organized and cares a lot. He puts a lot of effort in a training plan that is tailored to your dog which is great for all situations!

I first contacted Southwest Dog Training when I realized that my five month old puppy Walter was experiencing a lot of fear around new people. Devin was so thorough in his training, his instructions were very clear and he was extremely helpful outside of our training sessions as well; always checking in and making sure that he was fully supporting Walter and I. I have seen a significant improvement in Walter! He has so much more confidence and always looks to me for guidance now. Not only did the training with Devin help Walter with his fear towards people, but it also helped me become a better leader for Walter. I’ve had a great experience with Devin and I highly recommend him!

I had an amazing experience training my dog with Devin!! He created a great training plan for us and helped with basic obedience skills, leash training, and place training. He’s really knowledgeable and knows how to adjust the drills based on each dog’s specific habits and needs. I would definitely recommend him to anyone who wants to see real results with their dog training!

We had both private lessons and the puppy school with Devin; every time it was very useful and after each of them my dog learned some new thing to do, or not to do. But of no less importance these lessons were for me: as a first time dog-owner I was very nervous and always uncertain of how to deal with this or that issue and with Devin's help I'm on much higher level of confidence now. So I would recommend Devin and his assistants - lovely Emily and serious-minded Cash, without any reservation to all the dogs and their parents!

We recently enrolled our 6-month old Irish Setter in Devin's impulse control class for teenage dogs. It was a great experience! Devin is a talented trainer who is flexible, attentive to the needs of his students (both human and canine), and knowledgeable. In the two months since finishing Devin's class, we have found that his techniques have had a continued positive impact on helping our young dog focus on us and stay mentally engaged. The variety of techniques Devin teaches can seem like a lot at first, but we found that by the end of the course we were quite comfortable with the material and have subsequently been able to retain what works best for our dog. We would fully recommend Devin, especially for those who are new dog owners or have large high-energy adolescent dogs :-)

Highly recommend Devin’s services: He has poise, confidence and is very professional but what we appreciated most was his empathy for our struggles without any trace of judgment. He was always available to answer our questions and concerns. His training and tips were tailored to our dog’s needs and he structured a routine tailored to our working schedule. Devin and his team are truly excellent. We were feeling a bit overwhelmed by our sheepadoodle puppy, and Devin's puppy class helped us develop the tools and techniques we needed to get through the tough parts and establish good, happy routines. It has made a huge difference. Devin's explanations are clear, patient and encouraging, and he's very supportive outside of class. We graduated from puppy school and are definitely heading back for the teen class!
