Muddy trail to get to the falls but worth it. Beautiful cascading falls that live up to their name.

It’s a nice day trip, 2h drive from Winnipeg, about 30-40 minutes casual walk to the falls. The directions are for the Great Canada Trail. The falls themselves are pretty big for our flat Manitoba. You can climb the rocks and go down to the water, go to the other side and explore the forest there. No food places, no washrooms.

Upper Coca-Cola Falls
I hiked to Upper Coca Cola Falls on June 11, 2022. The trail starts from along Broadlands Road and follows along a portion of the Trans Canada Trail for 2 km to the falls and then 2 km back. The falls are in an isolated location and a bit challenging to find the first time. There are Google Map coordinates that you can find on a YouTube video (do not route your Google Maps to this location on the map, as it will not lead down the correct road). The falls are located along a very narrow gravel and pothole-filled road south of Powerview-Pine Falls (take highway 304 past the town and the dam and turn right on Broadlands Road for about 20 minutes until you reach the trailhead sign). The trail is wide and follows through the forest. It’s very peaceful and pretty with tall trees. There are some muddy and boggy sections along the trail that you have to navigate. Also, the mosquitoes are horrendous and aggressive! Make sure to wear a bug net, and bring lots of bug spray. The hike itself was not very enjoyable or relaxing due to the bugs. I’m almost positive we also heard a bear in the woods but once we started talking again, I could hear it walking away. We did spot a black bear on the gravel road after finishing the falls, so they’re definitely out there.Once you arrive at the falls, there is a newly constructed bridge to cross with gorgeous views overlooking the water. From there, you can climb down some of the rocks along the side of the falls to get better views. The water is so powerful right now from all the recent rain! The mosquitoes weren’t as relentless at the falls as it was an open area with air flow, so that was more enjoyable. Only got a couple of ticks as well.Overall, Coca Cola Falls is a great hidden gem in Manitoba and well worth a visit! Definitely not something you’d expect to find in the middle of the forest.
