I was desperate for a bike and was feeling pretty disheartened by the shortage of affordable bicycles (especially within the city/accessible without access to a vehicle). The folks at HC&G really came through for me and found me the perfect ride! They're an outstanding bunch and I definitely won't be going anywhere else.

Took my bike in for a tune up and it came back in worse condition than it went in. Was very disappointed, brakes squeak like crazy now. Not $70 well spent. :(reply to owner: Yes I didn't write the review right after the appointment, not sure why that's important though. Wasn't really interested it trying to have your team address the issue as I don't trust the work anymore.The bike was a $2,000 bike with brand name parts so low quality isn't really the case.I don't want to have any further dealings with your company. Just regret having brought it there in the first place.

Great little store packed to the brim with all your biking needs. It's obvious that people come here for repeat business because of the personalized service and relationships that they build with their clients.All the staff are extremely knowledgable about all kinds of bikes and won't sell you anything you don't need. Highly recommend!

These guys are great!! I brought in my neglected 2002 Kona Blast into the shop, and the guys made it run just like new. Not only are they very knowledgeable when it comes to bikes, they're also very friendly and easy to deal with. I'd recommend Halifax Cycles Inc. to anyone who either needs a new bike, or their current one serviced.

I ordered a bike and paid for it in full, it took 6 months to arrive (fine, supply chain issues are real right now). When it was finally time to pick up my bike the owner told me that the price of the bike went up after I had already purchased it in full and waited 6 months for it to arrive. She would not let me leave with the bike I had already purchased six months prior without paying additional money for it. They did not warn me prior that the price may go up! I went to finally pick up my bike after already paying for it and waiting 6 months for it to arrive and the owner sprung this on me. I tried to tell her that I did not think this was fair and she became irate and started yelling at me. It was the most unprofessional experience I have ever encountered and I DO NOT recommend buying from here.

Wow, I am so glad I found these guys. My e-bike had been involved in an accident and the rear wheel was badly bent and there was other damage. From the moment I called Halifax Cycles I knew I was in good hands.I took the bike in and left it with them for around 8 working days (they are busy, which is a good sign). Ross is awesome, and as for the technician Duane, well he worked wonders and straightened out the wheel. I wasn't really expecting him to be able to do that. Ross kept me updated throughout, and although they could have gouged me, they didn't. Their fee was very reasonable considering the work they did.I have found a gem and I want to keep it to myself (so why I am writing this, haha!) I am writing it to support this fantastic local business.Thanks Duane and Ross and team.

After calling several different shops about doing an extensive overhaul on my bike, I chose Halifax cycles because they seem to have the most product knowledge on my particular Cervelo. Ross was also the most patient person I spoke to out of all the representatives, going into depth on several different questions I had. When we experienced a shipping delay(no fault of theirs) Ross helped me find a solution and made sure i was satisfied. I'll be returning for my next service here.

Incredible expertise, fast service, friendly staff, and great value. I will be shopping at Halifax Cycles exclusively from now on for all my biking needs. If you have been looking for a fantastic bike mechanic, your search is over!Background: Another local bike shop installed a new freewheel hub on my single speed bike. They told me AFTER they were done that the hub was terrible quality and that its design was such that it could never be removed such that I would need a new wheel if it failed. Sure enough, the hub failed in less than 90 days. I called several other shops and only two mechanics would even look at it, both concluding that it was impossible to remove, but one of them recommended that I try Halifax Cycles. Halifax Cycles got the freewheel off and installed a new quality replacement in less than an hour, noting that it would have been faster if the other shop hadn't installed the faulty one backwards to begin with! I am beyond impressed with Halifax Cycles and I highly recommend them. Thank you thank you thank you!

I rented bike in Halifax, last October. I have experienced the best service ever!The owner (ladie) was amazing! I am a tall and quite heavy guy and I had doubts that I would find a bike that fits me. She was ressourcefull and took time to explain the way that the bike was working.The kindness and knowledge of this person was outstanding. She went way beyond her job and was a real embassador for her beloved City!Je suis un francophone de l’Outaouais (Québec)!
