I want to thank everyone at Highland Animal Hospital for their help. Despite being under an incredible workload (every vet I've called in Cape Breton have had a 6+ month wait list), they are amazingly efficient, prompt and caring. Our beloved 16 year old kitty was getting increasingly ill, and after our visit last week, she's responding *so* well to her medication. You are the best! Thank you for everything you do.

My puppy was spayed there last weekWednesday. I live in Antigonish, but wanted to follow Dr. Venot to her new clinic. The 45min drive to the clinic is worth it! Lots of staff, new looking clinic, more space and 3 vets. I think they also care for large and farm animals. Today is Day 5 and you would never know my puppy just had surgery! Dr. Venot called my house to find out how puppy was doing 48hrs after surgery - thats just amazing. The first 12hrs were very hard for puppy, but that was it. Puppy is back to being her usual line-backer self on day 5!! I would do my best to have my fur babies treated by Dr. Venot all the time!!

They are so kind, & awesome with the animals that they see in there!! Very knowledgeable, easy to talk to!! Willing to go that extra mile!! I wouldn't go anywhere else!!

My 1 year old dog was having an emergency after ingesting gardening seeds accidentally. She had lost the ability to walk, gone unconscious, barely breathing and we were terrified she was dying. Called the emergency line (around 8pm) and spoke with the most unprofessional, unsympathetic woman ever. Because our dog hadn't been to the vet before they wouldn't see her, and basically told us call the other vet in town or let her die. I was crying and begging her to be seen, said there was no reason we couldn't be patients at this vet if she were to be seen, and she said, nothing I can do

I absolutely love the service there they're very good to my cats.

A few days ago, I called to ask some questions, as sadly my 19-year-old cat was passing away. I had called the other vet clinic in the area prior, but the total lack of empathy that I encountered, as well as being told that my cat would have to undergo an examination if I took her in for euthanasia... a 19-year-old cat clearly hours away from death... I decided to call this clinic.I just wanted to say thank you for the empathy; it was truly appreciated during this difficult time. And also, thank you for being logical in that although there is a mandatory examination for cats who have never come to the clinic, that under these circumstances this would not be required.Although I have never used the services thus far, I appreciate the care and empathy received during this phone conversation and will be using your services in the future. Thank you.

I have an emergency with one of my cats and called here. There was absolutely no empathy or caring!! A curt: “Because we haven’t seen your animal in 5 years, her record was deleted and we will not see her.” I called the veterinarian clinic in Baddeck, explained the situation, the receptionist was kind and understanding and they will see her tomorrow! What a difference!! Wow!

Best clinic ever .I run Forget Me Not Animal Rescue and we take all our animals here .The very best !

I have heard a lot of bad things about this clinic. However, when my indoor cat got outside and was run over, they were the only clinic is Cape Breton willing to take her right away (everywhere else wanted me to wait a few days for an appointment despite the cat being in really rough shape). The staff were very friendly and the cat seemed happy to be there. The cat survived and is happy and healthy now, the bill was alarmy low considering the injury and they didn't charge for having to keep her for awhile. I can't say anything bad about this clinic. In an emergency, they perform exceptionally well. I am extremely thankful they made her a priority and saved our pet.
