National Car Rental

What a terrible experience! Started bad with getting the vehicle at the Ottawa airport... there was about 15 people milling around the national kiosk, there was no clear signage about where to line up, I chose a spot and was served after one other person was processed... turns out I had jumped the non existent cue, with some folks waiting for 15 minutes before me... the three national guys said nothing and made no eye contact with the crowd... no customer service skills. During this time of COVID they should be more organized not less!Then while driving the vehicle I got a flat, not National’s fault but with a knee injury I was not keen on getting down on the pavement with the jack so I called the National 1-800 number for road assistance and after 10 minutes with the operator, she pleasantly informed me that she could find no record of the vehicle using the rental agreement or vehicle license and they could not provide assistance. I struggled through and changed the tire. Upon returning the vehicle I shared my experience with road side assistance and the National rep pointed his device at the vehicle and said “hmmm it’s in our system”... no apologies.National will be my last choice next time.

Spotless car, amazing staff!Im an Amazon employee. I had an early flight today (8am) & forgot one of my bags inside the suv that i rented from them, didn’t realize it until i dropped the keys off & checked in! Ran back to grab it but, to my horror, i saw online that they open at 7.30am! (It was 6.30am) BUT, when i went to the store, they were just opening! Realizing the urgency, the employee inside got in action like a bullet, verified my identity & rushed to grab the keys & to the car!!! Thanks to him, i BARELY made the flight!The kind man’s name is FUAD. If it wasn’t for this man, I’d still be sitting at the airport. Thanks a ton buddy :) Really. From now on, for all my trips, I’ll be renting from National only. Thank you again for helping me out!

The vehicle I was renting was having flat tire and I went to the Ottawa location National to switch to another car. But they didn’t have any other mid-size SUV at the time so they gave me a Mazda CX3 which was too small but it’s fine in the meantime.The issue was when ask them when they would have a mid-size SUV available so I can change the car back to the same size and employees seem like they didn’t want to help. I got put on hold for more than 10 minutes and got hung up. As an executive elite member, I must say service at this location is very disappointing.

Never been appreciate as an emerald executive or been provided with an upgrade.(as supposed to be) even when they are plenty of cars available.Usually got assigned cars with high Km’s, this time same experience, small car, all is manual inside, uncomfortable.Very unpleasant experience, maybe time to switch at least when coming to Ottawa

Excellent, pleasant, fast service. Really good vehicles. They went above and beyond in helping me arrange for a vehicle on short notice. Would definitely use them again.

As a executive elite member i travel very often for work and require the use of a rental car constantly.Noah was superb and amazing to deal with.Got me in and out of the rental counter in under a few minutes and upgraded my reservation to an SUV for no extra charge.Highly recommend this location and definitely shoutout to Noah for making this a true executive elite experience.
