Four Counties Health Services

I see it is Nurses week! So I think what I encountered yesterday specifically is worth sharing. I am sick (just a nasty cold), but had to go to emerg cause my throat was burning, my chest was so full I was wheezing and I just felt dumpy.At 9 pm lastnight I got to emerg at 4 Counties Hospital Newbury. The triage nurse was incredibly kind, did not make me feel uncomfortable for going in with “a cold”. I had a chest X-ray within 10 minutes of walking in the door! The X-ray tech that was likely a call in was still there and super kind, not annoyed that I was making her stay longer for “a cold”. The doctor/nurse practitioner was thorough, kind, and valued my time that I had taken to come in, as well as his staff’s. The nurse that came in and gave me meds and a puffer so I could breathe was kind as well. I was so impressed by the staff as so often our poor nurses that have been through the ringer with COVID, and Still continue to show up and put a smile on their face.Newbury is our closest hospital and over the last 20 years we have had pretty amazing medical care there. Last night though I could not believe that the entire staff was all so kind, we are lacking this these days so it was nice to see. Kudos to the staff in the emergency department Sunday May 7th at 9-10 pm, plus the young lady that did my X-rays!Kindness and compassion go a long way.

I went in with a severe sinus infection, waited 4 hours to see the doctor and when I was finally seen, the doctor didn’t even do a check up on me. First he questioned who I was with, (my boyfriend) then he said there was nothing he would give me. Then proceeded to make condescending remarks after I asked if I could get antibiotics or a nasal spray, anything! He said no. It wasn’t until I told him I was a teacher and am around children that he finally went and wrote up a script for 3 different items. We were 100% racially profiled by this physician. Terrible experience!!

Sometimes a wait, but excellent service. Dr's are bang on with diagnoses.
