Dined at your restaurant a few weeks ago. Myself & my husband ordered the the candle light meal. Both our meals were terrible. I ordered salmon with a baked potato. My meal came with rice. I mentioned that I had ordered a baked potato. It never arrived until about 10 minutes later. My husband's steak looked as if it had been boiled. His roast potatoes were burnt. We have been to Woodstock numerous times & have always enjoyed a delicious meal. We will not be returning & definitely would not recommend it to our friends.

We would both highly recommend this fantastic restaurant which was decorated so nicely for the Christmas season! We will be back!

Amazing service. Nicole was super friendly and great fun to talk to! Sunday Brunch was spectacular. Well worth stopping in for a while! If you have a big appetite, you won't be disappointed!

Food was excellent as was the service and atmosphere. I liked the idea of the live piano entertainment, but I guess we sat too close as it was a little too loud for dinner music.

We have been going to this restaurant for years and have seen a lot of changes. We remember our first experience well when the server brought our bottle of wine wrapped in a white napkin. Poured it for us to taste first and came back every time she saw our glasses getting low and topped them up. She asked us if we were celebrating anything and we told her it was our Anniversary. Before we left she came out with a chocolate truffle each. An experience that brought us back again and again. While that special touch didn't last as staff changed over the year, we kind of expected it not to. Our recent experience was not so good. The servers were friendly but our food wasn't up to it's usual standards. My salmon was supposed to be glazed with maple but it was not visible and I couldn't taste it. I wanted to substitute my rice for roasted potato. They were low on potato but would see what they could do. I got my potato and so did my husband but by the portion size, I think they shared up one small potato between the both of us. My husband ordered the seafood sampler which he often did. There were no shrimp, instead muscles. A cheap substitute that we noticed right away. The atmosphere was lovely at first with a lady singing and playing guitar until the kitchen staff started playing music at a very noticable high volume. Disappointed to say the least in the overall experience. We always spent a generous amount there on our meal and tip. Always purchased a bottle of wine. Not sure if we will go back. It's the little things that mattered. Too bad.

Went here for dinner with some friends on their recommendation and it was a good one indeed. You can pick stuff from the menu or you can do a $60 three course deal that most of the menu is eligible for. I had a French Onion Soup, a stuffed chicken breast and a three layer chocolate cake that I took home and ate the next day because I was so full. Our server was Nicole and she was fantastic. We had a three year old with us and she was fantastic with him and just made us all feel very welcome and looked after. The food was fantastic and like I said, I couldn't even get to my dessert because the quantities were so generous, I was full by the time it arrived. For $60 a person, it was a solid value.I hope to come back here again the next time I'm in Newfoundland.

Used to be an amazing place to bring your family, after today's visit, not so much.My partner, myself and our two oldest kids went for the brunch and I regret taking them there. It's the first time I've ever been there and the food was terrible. The servers got upset because we didn't like the food which we don't understand, it's not like they cooked the food, they just served it so I have no idea why they became so rude.My daughter is a picky eater so I asked if they could make pancakes for her, they asked the cook who said no, no reason just a no. Ok that's fine, she still likes toutons so she'll just get toutons. When it arrived, it was a single touton. I understand if she was 5 or 6 maybe, but she's 11 so she can eat 2 or 3.My girlfriend ordered breakfast first and received very little again and what she did get wasn't very good. Scrambled eggs tasted old and greasy and the bologna had an off taste. She did love their dressing when she ordered the turkey dinner.I ordered the turkey dinner, turkey, carrots, salt meat, potatoes, turnip, gravy, dressing, peas pudding, ya know, what you'd normally get at Woodstocks and with turkey dinner. I waited for 10 minutes while everyone else ate, watched as other people had these amazing plates of turkey dinner brought out, little gravy boats with them. Then my server comes out with a plate missing potatoes and peas pudding, and with a meager portion and the turkey was all skin and fat. I told her she may as well grab me another plate right away, still not mad just confused as to what happened. Ordered the same thing, this time no potatoes, carrot, or dressing. The turkey was so salty I had to spit it out. I did include a picture of the second plate, its the sad one with the peas pudding and turnip. At this point I started getting annoyed with what happened, twice. So the third time is the charm right? Nope. My girlfriend and her son both ordered the turkey dinner, got these big plates of food, again I got brought something for a 5 year old. So at that point I was just said I was done with dinner and I didn't want what they brought me.They sent over the hostess, who asked what was wrong, I explained it to her and said I don't understand why this happened 3 times with the small portions and missing food, and the little I did get to eat was either under seasoned or over seasoned. It was a really confusing meal to say the least.Thankfully, the hostess was understanding and only charged us for the coffees we first ordered when we arrived and that was it.I must admit, I was greatly disappointed that the food had been so bad considering I've been here numerous times for brunch and dinners and it's always been fantastic. Maybe a new cook? Have no idea, would love to try and bring my family back again but we're feeling kinda wary of returning.

Vegetables were severed 20 min before meat came out and then never asked how do we want out meat cooked… so then we had to wait for the meat to be cooked extra. No tea or coffee included in a $60 meal which you would never eat $60 worth and well not even given the option to eat that much either. Not recommended..18% gratituty was automatically charged with really bad service… you should be able to tip accordingly. Chef was not the friendliest

Phenomenal restaurant and tavern without having to head into St. John's. Located in Paradise, this historic place has been open since the 1920's and public houses like this are a corner stone of the old world culture where every day ended at places like this. Includes a tea room, as well as a tavern up stairs with low ceilings and board games. The main restaurant has phenomenal plates and appetizers that are very good proportions for the cost, and so well made. Featuring special appetizers, entries and deserts as well as a killer cocktail line up. Wine selections and local brews on tap as well. The only better than the atmosphere and food is the heart warming staff. Great parking and easy to get reservations. Also have a tremendous brunch. While I have a long list of my favorite places to eat, this is by far my favorite. The balance between cost, atmosphere and food is what makes it worth it. Must see.
