Where are the people!?!Went to pick up currency order. One person in line. Two people seated at the single wicket that was open. No staff in sight in the large open area behind the counter - not anywhere. Several minutes later person comes to the single open wicket. Sits down. It’s clearly going to be a long one. Had to leave. Foolishly I tried to call them later so they wouldn’t send my order back before I could get there again, but no, I was wrong for thinking it’s possible to speak to something other than a robot when calling the branch directly. If you speak, it tries to answer your questions but it can’t understand you so it just hangs up on you.Here’s a tidbit from a family member who worked for the bank a lifetime ago. The “retail” bank - the you and me bank of accounts and savings and mortgages and high service fees - is the steady profitable backbone of the bank. The commercial/business bank makes tonnes of money and loses tonnes of money. But this is the service reserved for the regular people. I noticed the business line had two tellers and two people to serve. Yup.

I wanted to open a new account with RBC because of a friend's recommendation, so I googled the nearby RBC branch. I was surprised when I saw the rating so low. in Google. But it was very close to where I work, so I still called to make an appointment. The lady who answered the phone heard that I was about to open a new account, and at first she was a good attitude. After she checked the dates and told me that the fastest in-person appointment was a week away. I thought about it and said that I will confirm my schedule and call back to make an appointment. She said you don't need to be in person to branch to open an account, we can now do it over the phone. I told her that I prefer in person appointment, and I'll call later to make it. Then, the lady on the phone said, OK. Then she hung up the phone!!!!!?????? Even though I'm still explaining to her why I prefer the appointment in person, she's already hung up!!!!! This makes me feel very unbelievable. Now I can understand why this branch has such the low rating.

Very poor customer service. The lady whom I was dealing with did not smile once, and looked like she did not want to be there. She projected unessicary anger onto her client whom she was dealing with.

When you see one or two and even three negative reviews, you still hope that they were people who had a bad day and wrote nonsense. I decided to give this branch a try and went on three different occasions, for different services. All failed my expectation as an RBC customer who has been with them for over 20 years. RBC please close this branch and disperse the people or send them all for re-training. I would personally volunteer to work for a food bank which will be established in place of this branch. At least something good will come out.

Horrible service today, there's a lady at the front who completely can't help people. I asked her 5 times to just to get me a new card for my Virtual debit (which I've had before) I just lost mine so I needed a new one, the lady just kept running around and saying she couldn't help me after 20 mins i left to another rbc , when all she had to do was order me a new card to my house, I had to drive to another rbc which was on Bettington and the guy helped me with in 2 minutes not even, will never go back to this horrible service ever again. This rbc should just be shut down for horrible service. Will only be going to bettington only rbc that can help you fast it seems.

AVOID!This is the 4th RBC branch I have been to in Calgary so far and don’t intend on ever coming back.Worst wait time I have ever experienced. The business line went 4x slower than the regular line (this line is supposed to be priority service.) Fasdeposit closes by 3:30… why?!? This is supposed to be a fast efficient way for people to make deposits.All workers were excruciatingly slow! I’ve never seen a whole crew of staff that looked so miserable and took forever to complete any work. I almost walked out of the bank and drove to another location due to the awful service.Almost all staff looked like they either swallowed a lemon or just got screamed at…The branch gives off a vibe of going through customs in an airport! Its almost set up the same. You feel like you are standing in line to be sentenced.Regardless, thankfully a new lady came on while I was still waiting in line and was able to perform her job 10x faster than all the other workers.Can’t say the staff cared about the customers at all!!! Almost an attitude of we will take your money if and when we decide to… hmm that seems backwards. No one was overly friendly either!

My husband and I went in to see a final adviser (sheldon), he was a pleasure to deal with and a wealth of knowledge. Unfortunately, he set us up with a loan specialist(Manu), which made me never want to deal with RBC again. At our first meeting, we waited over half an hour past our appointment to see him. When we finally did, he was all over the place, and we had to repeat information over and over. I get people have bad days ... were only humans, after all. However, there is also a level of professionalism you would expect from this role. Instead of the specialist" calling us

i have had the worst experiences with this branch. The wait times are horrible, only having 2 tellers at a time. they forced me to close my bank accounts without notice with rbc after being with them for years, not to mention one of the managers there was very disrespectful. i have never had a problem with any other branch expect for this one and im very disappointed in their customer service, reslly something they need to improve as there was a lot of unhappy people while i was there multiple times.

No matter what time of day you come to this branch, no matter if it is busy or not, prepare to waste a good amount of your time here! A bunch of incompetent slow staff at this branch. Avoid if you can.
