Each time I’ve used the service has been a mixed bag, but all in all the employees have always done what they’re able to with the information I have.Sometimes I don’t have the correct documents, and there’s nothing that they can do about that. But all in all, I’ve been successful. Thanks

I went there to get some financial stuff switched over and they were right on it. The time before it took me about 2 hours.I guess it was a slow day today.

I have been on hold for 2 hours and 7 minutes. Feel so invested in the call, but can I keep waiting? They can't be that busy because I sat outside of their office for about an hour the other day and watched about ten people get turned away because they didn't have an appointment just as I was turned away.

Is it not customary to offer condolences to the family member notifying you of the person’s passing? The agent on the phone, who I will not name, was very nice and polite, but after I got off the phone I realized I felt upset. The task of dealing with one’s parent’s affairs post death can be very difficult. Your cooperation and empathy is appreciated at such a difficult time.

I'm a Canadian with an IR1 visa, I drove to this office to apply for a SSN, didn't make an appointment, just walked in and was in and out in an hour. Super friendly and nice staff!

Both people I talked to were very nice and helped me get a list of all the paperwork I needed to send in. Within a couple days I had all my paperwork back and both social security cards within a week!

We are applying for our daughter's Social Security number from Canada. When preparing the package to send we called this office specifically to make sure everything would be acceptable, and followed the office's advice for what type of ID to use. They then rejected the package based on their advice which we had followed precisely, and forced us to reapply (twice). Despite receiving all the ID, they keep no record of what was sent so we have to issue all the passports and birth certificate etc. again at the cost of $50 for registered mail and several more months of waiting. Why cannot they not keep an open file of the records already sent and just allow us to send one new document? Absolute nightmare working with these people.

If I could give zero stars, I would.I tried dropping off sensitive documents today to a staffed office, but they would not take it from me and insisted that I mail them to the same exact address. The directions on the website were that you can drop off your application and when you click on the local office, it says they are open from 9-4. What a waste of time and resources! A drop off box would be the sensible thing to do since this is a COVID closure, but then again, we are talking about a government office where common sense and efficiency is not a priority. Perhaps you should update the website!

I have tried my user name and password and it no longer works. I tried to use the system to create a new one. Blocked out. Tried to call the office and it is impossible to get through. I just hope after driving and hour, and taking time from work, that I don't need an appt. Unbelievable.
