We chose the school after thoughtful prayers and touring and comparing with four other schools in 2017. Looking back now, how glad that we had made the decision. We don't speak any French at all. We would like to give her a gift of another language. My daughter was a bit shy and knew how to read in English. I knew that a loving caring environment and some challenge would help her develop. Toronto French Montessori seemed to be the perfect fit. Over the time, I see her flourishing into a confident, independent and caring individual. she just turned four years old. She can fully converse with the teachers in French and read French books. We know this gift of language has gone beyond our expectation. Many times when we were playing in early years centre, parents came to me and ask me which school she is attending. Her vocabulary and confidence brought attention to many parents. My daughter started attending the pre-casa program at TFMS last fall at the age of 2. From the very beginning she has felt at ease. She looks forward to seeing her teachers and friends every day and loves to take her teacher’s hand as she waves goodbye and heads to the classroom. Academically she is now counting and reciting the alphabet in English and French. Although we only speak English at home she can follow instructions at school in French and is beginning to offer greetings and goodbyes to her teachers in French without prompting. The schoolhouse is cozy and feels like a second home. The teachers are attentive and communicative and the principal is welcoming and friendly. I cannot speak highly enough of our experience so far. Our youngest daughter will be attending with her sister in the fall and I look forward to her receiving the gift of Montessori education at TFMS.
