Veterans Memorial Park
A beautiful, serene place with very well thought out and tasteful tributes and rememberances to those who have served, including those of the animal kingdom who gave their lives in conflict as well.A must see.

I've never been more moved by a location than I have by this Memorial. A fitting memorial to those who served, be they on two legs or four! Thank you!

Veterans Memorial Park
This is a deeply moving Park dedicated to Veterans both human and animal, for Veterans from both World Wars, Afghanistan and other conflicts. The Park / Garden has a section to recognise that there are many who come home struggling with the physical and emotional toll. AT the going down of the sun, we shall remember them.

Veterans Memorial Park
Well worth visiting and reflecting on the ultimate sacrifice of so many Canadians. The animal tribute is very moving also as the unspoken heros.

Great park, wonderful design. The work to maintain the park in the great condition it is in is amazing! Always enjoy the November 11th service here, wonderful to have it back

Veterans Memorial Park is located in rural area of Bass River. The park can be easily navigated on Apple Maps and Google Maps. It is situated across the road from Bass River Heritage Museum and besides Loggers and Woodworkers Park on the bank of beautiful Bass River. This park is unique with its stunning design and location. They are worth visiting all three places situated besides each other. However, Museum opens seasonally and Loggers Park and Memorial Park can be visited any time of the year. But, summer is always the best time to visit such open parks. The sculptured gardens of the Veterans Memorial Park are a living memorial to those who served and continue to serve in Canada's Armed Forces & Peacekeeping. The Gardens were designed by Dr. Karen Ewing. After visiting the Western Front, tracing the steps of the Royal Newfoundland Regiment, she returned with the determination to 'do something' to commemorate the enormity of the sacrifice there witnessed. With the effort of community members, and all levels of government, this Memorial Park has been created, opening on July 1, 2008 celebrating Canada Day and commemorating the anniversary of WWI, The Battle of the Somme & Beaumont Hamel. In 2013, Veterans Memorial Park was named the top Memorial Park in Canada by Communities in Bloom.Veterans Memorial Park consists of three gardens, which, when combined, are in the shape of a Celtic flower.THE GARDEN OF SORROWS.THE GARDEN OF REMEMBRANCE.THE GARDEN OF HOPE.
