We ordered through uber eats since that's the only delivery service they use. The food was good as usual but that is not what this review is about. We've picked up orders from here before so this wasn't our first order. It seems that the quantity is being reduced every year. When you order through uber for pili pili, you're paying almost $4 more for ribs/fries, so instead of $15 we paid $19 x3 orders. The ribs came with fries. So We literally paid $75 for a total of about 1.5 lbs OF RIBS ONLY AND ABOUT 1.5 LBS OF FRIES.that is absolutely ridiculous!! Shameful actually to treat your long standing customers who support you through the pandemic like this. Yes its been difficult for restaurant owners but this is and has always been a take out restaurant. So it wouldn't be any different with covid for this place. The price isn't fair for the quantity provided which seems to be getting smaller over time...it wasn't always like this but it seems the owner has been getting greedy even before covid started. Very dissapointed with the amount of food. Pic for proof if you think I'm guessing the quantity..Can you imagine getting 1.5 lbs of wings for $75 .. would that ever seem fair????

The food and service are exceptional. Manita prepared our food. Fresh, Flavourful and piping hot with so many chutney flavours. Looks like they might be moving, hope they share the new location soon. Thank you for our wonderful mean and incredible service.

I’m so sad to hear you’re closing. Your food is my absolute favourite in the whole city. I live for your donairs and beef ribs. I hope this is temporary. Wishing you the best of luck and hoping you open up something soon… and if you do please let me know!

I finally got to try this place out and I'd say for this price you cannot get better ribs. I also had the kebabs which came with chutneys and those were really good as well.2021 update: I tried the Gajjar Chicken, and it is the best BBQ style chicken I've had in the area. Amazing!!

Delicious East African food!Had the Ribs, Cassava Fries and Mandazi (fried bread)Ribs were delicious. The powder for the fries was amazing. Had an amazing sourness to it. Loved the sauces that came along too.Fried bread was a bit too dry and doughy.

A small halal Tasmanian take out joint... the food is grilled with pili pili seasoning which is tangy and spicy. If your looking for gravy and rice then it's not the place. I ordered AAA Beef ribs and beef Mishkaki (similar to beef cube kababs) both came with one side, a choice between Moga (starchy wedges looking and tasting but is not a potato) or French fries. Both tasted spicy, tangy and smokey. A good flavour worth trying. Prices for both were $12.50 + tax

Really enjoyed the food here. Ordered 1lb of Beef Mishkake and 1lb of Chicken Mishkake for take out along with fries and.mogo. The marination is done really well. Soft and tender pieces of meat. Ask for the hot sauce as well as it tastes really good.

I found Pili Pili while visiting my cousin in the east end. The young gentlemen who were in charge of cash and cooking in the back were exactly that: gentlemen. They were friendly and offered information about the restaurant owner when we enquirer about the cultural background of the establishment. The chicken and especially the beef were richly flavored with their spice mix and was light, not heavy. The sides were well made and moderately priced. The food was made to order so although there was about a 15 minute wait, it was definitely well worth it. The food was fresh and excellently prepared. It made my Mom long to be back in East Africa where she grew up! We bought the large order of carrot pickle to enjoy over the summer and sampled the Ugali Fries which were a bit on the tart side, but good. The samosas were fantastic!!! It reminded us of when we were kids. If there is one very minor complaint it is that the sauces were very liquidy and didn’t have a good thickness to them which would have been great as a dipping sauce for the samosas. In all however, excellent food. Bravo Pili Pili! We will definitely be back when we are in Scarborough again!!!

The food was ok, a little over seasoned so it all tasted the same. Wouldn't get fries, they become soggy by the time you get your food. The cassava however was delicious. Great service, very friendly staff.
