Lemieux Island Park
One of the best panoramic views in the city are from the bridge to the island. You can see the Gatineau hills on one end and Parliament from the other. Plenty of parking and there are people fishing in the area as well

Lemieux Island Park
A short detour from the main bike/jogging path along the Ottawa River is Lemieux Island. Vaguely reminiscent of a penal colony, complete with Shawshank Redemption style escape sewer pipe. Worth a look.

Lemieux Island Park
This is a great little escape in the very middle of the Ottawa hustle and bustle. Lots of room for dogs to get some excellent running and chasing.

If you have dogs, great place to bring them. Secluded, and lots of running space, and river accessible for your pet to swim. On leash, but all the dogs seem friendly, and are all off leash ( fyi).
