Freshwater Lake
The trail is short and yes a good incline, compared to other views offered by mother nature elsewhere In Cabot Trail, the view is OK.What intrigued us was the fact that there is lake that is meters away from the ocean. I could not believe that the lake was fresh water - I actually had to taste it. The phenomenon I believe is rare.There is a coffee shop/ snack shop right near the beach and fairly good washroom facilities.The beach is amazing and so is the lake.

Freshwater Lake
We started over at the ocean side of the park. A short two minute walk brought us to the freshwater lake and improved our playtime immeasurably. The lake is shallow for a long way which makes the water so warm. There are hundreds of minnows to delight youngsters and playground if water is not for your little ones. Enjoy!

The calm lake next to the bay with clear water is perfect for SUP and Kayak, and many people swim here. It is safer than the bay for beginner paddlers.
