Great museum for little ones. They had a blast and especially liked the train rides.

Amazing place, kids will like it, but first, the entrance is in the 1 st parking lot P1 so pass the black train on the left and pass Tim Horton, then turn left, the Mini train might be the most important part so make sure you buy the tkt for it from the entrance.

Great place to visit if you have any interest in trains and or canadian transport history. Lots of trains indoors and outside and several that you can go inside of. You have an opportunity to ride a vintage streetcar around the grounds (for a small additional charge).

Lots of cool trains/ engines/ tracks w history. If you into those, you are in the right place! If you take your little ones for a jolly great time? Think twiceThe service is horrible. It was confusing to find the main building,Then all the train rides require extra charge( not a lot) but all cancelled due to storm, even though the forecast says thunder will stop completely soon( it proved eventually it stopped after whats forecasted) still, they wont prepare to open or sell tickets to you,We waited waited cus the little one came all the way for a ride, then guess what after 2 hr hanging around killing time with nothing( no other entertainment besides watching the trains) they told us, power went out….At that point we just walked out….Such a disappointment!A place like this should have more kids entertaining set ups, like little indoor rides, indoor plays…. Its so tedious yet inconvenient( looooooong walk to anything)

Nice staff, friendly and bilingual people. The trains look amazing, you can get inside I pretend you are on that time. Highly recommend this plan for families and kids.

Wonderful collection of old engines etc in 2 huge buildings. No food court since COVID so pack in or get hungry. Our tour leader was great, then 2 more hrs on our own.

I recently visited the Canadian Railway Museum with my friends, and overall, it was a beautiful experience. The museum is a treasure trove for both kids and adults, showcasing the rich history of railways in Canada. However, there were a few aspects that could be improved upon.Firstly, finding the entrance to the museum was quite a challenge. The signage could be more prominent and informative, as it took us some time to navigate our way there. Clearer directions or more visible markers would greatly help visitors in locating the entrance more easily.Another area that could use some improvement is the friendliness and welcoming attitude of the employees. While I understand that working in a busy museum can be demanding, a warm and inviting atmosphere goes a long way in enhancing the visitor experience. It would be wonderful to see the staff smiling and readily available to assist and engage with visitors.Furthermore, the lighting inside the museum could be better. Some areas were dimly lit, making it difficult to fully appreciate the exhibits and read the accompanying information. Adjusting the lighting to ensure proper visibility throughout the museum would greatly enhance the overall experience for visitors.Despite these drawbacks, I must emphasize that the Canadian Railway Museum is truly a remarkable place. The collection of trains and artifacts is extensive, offering a captivating glimpse into Canada's railway heritage. The interactive displays and educational activities make it an enjoyable experience for kids, and even adults can't help but feel a sense of wonder and nostalgia. In conclusion, while the navigation to the entrance can be challenging, and the employees could be more welcoming and friendly, the Canadian Railway Museum remains a must-visit destination. The beautiful experience it provides for both children and adults, along with its rich historical significance, makes it well worth a visit. With some improvements in signage, staff attitude, and lighting, it has the potential to become an even more outstanding attraction.

What an incredible place! Everything is well maintained and clean. The staff are super friendly. Leave yourself a few hours to be able to read the information and take in the sights. The diorama train collection alone is worth the trip.My only complaint is that the lighting was dim. It made reading difficult. So perhaps bring a cell phone light/flashlight to be able to see certain items better.
