Galaxy Camera has been my go to spot for any of my film/camera related needs since i've started taking photos!The store is truly like a wonderland for photography enthusiasts (film and digital alike)! The store has a wonderful range of stock for all photography needs ranging from developper chemicals, camera bags, filters, camera straps, cameras themselves and more. It can truly be a one stop shop for camera needs and the community the store has makes it even better.I think the main reason as to why this is the case is because I truly have not experienced such caring customer service like this before. Ali is truly a gem and has been a pillar in my photography journey and i'm truly thankful for all that he does for the Ottawa photography community :)

Galaxy is the best place in the city for film photography — supplies, processing, and most importantly wisdom and friendly advice. I spend a lot of time there just chatting with the owner about what I’m shooting, which film I should try next, and he’s even talked me through learning how to develop my own film at home. Such a welcoming space for everyone at every stage of shooting film. I’ve never found Galaxy intimidating, even when I was starting out with a point-and-shoot camera and asking all kinds of basic questions. I’m so glad I found this place!

Galaxy Camera is your one stop shop for all photography needs. Ali (the owner) is super welcoming, friendly and knowledgeable. I had dropped off film to get developed and had a question about a new film camera I had gotten and he gave me a better understanding of my film camera and what film to use. I will definitely be going back and would recommend highly.

I was passing by Ottawa today and came in to ask for advice about my camera and Ali, the store owner, was extremely nice and welcoming, and gave me useful insight about my camera light seals.I already had all I needed in terms of film and couldn't leave my camera for CLA, but next time I'm in the city I'll definitely come back to get a refill of film.Ali seemed extremely knowledgeable and helpful and you can tell he takes good care of his customers.

Galaxy Camera is somewhere I recommend to all my friends wanting to get started in film photography. Ali is incredibly generous with his time and taught me all the basics of using my camera. He remembers all his regular customers and often gives treats when you visit the shop. He develops any kind of film and knows everything there is to know about cameras. Truly a one of a kind individual and a one of a kind store. The service is incredible.

Galaxy Camera is the best photography store in Ottawa. Ali is such a nice person and has so much knowledge and passion about photography. When it comes to film you can find everything at Galaxy Camera, from super expensive Ektachrome to everyday HP5, from Kodak Gold to rare infrared film, and Ali is always ready to give you useful tips about how to shoot your film. He has also plethora of cameras from new digital models to old vintage TLRs. Every time I go there to it brings me so much joy and I hope Galaxy Camera stays open for many years to come.

Whether you’re a seasoned film photographer or just starting out, I highly recommend Galaxy Camera.This local store is an absolute gem! The combination of an incredibly helpful owner, fair prices, and an atmosphere that always leaves you smiling makes this store a go-to in the photography community. I do not suggest to go to this place if you’re looking to get your film developed fast with a digital link like other store in Ottawa. This store transfer your scans on a cheap USB that breaks easily and it takes a week for them to get dev. The owner, Ali, being condescending will tell you it’s your Mac book that breaks the USB and asks you to buy a new one.I also do not suggests going to this place for any reparation. He does not do any reparation in store compared to other repair store in Ottawa. He ships the camera to be repaired in Toronto and he forgets about it. You need to remind the owner that you’re waiting to get your camera back. It takes minimum a month for repair and got back mine after almost 2 month because he forgot about it and wasn’t even repaired.VIP card is also a scam. To convince you to get it, he’ll tell you that you’ll get a vip discount on everything in store, but ain’t it just not the truth. When buying a usb cable he told me it’s already not expensive so he won’t give me the discount. He’ll tell you this for numerous other services and items. How convenient for him.The owner, Ali, is very nice at first but quickly you will see that he’s not professional at all and is full of scams. Go to other also small business owner stores, you’ll be happy you did.This is my honest review. I was a regular customer of his, seeing all the good reviews online I thought at first “this place must be great”, I was wrong. This store does not deserve all those good reviews. I was a regular customer until I accumulated enough bad feelings and intuitions to tell me to go elsewhere. I had many bad experience there and I think it’s important that people be aware of this.

Best film photography store around Ottawa/Gatineau hands down!!! Ali has everything you'll need and always provides exceptional customer service and advice if you have questions. Love coming here!
