Tojo's Restaurant
Exceptional food. So glad we went. BC Roll unlike any other I have ever had - very yummy. Sashimi was butter soft.Cleanest restaurant washroom I have ever been in. Thanks for that.Service was top notch. One note to mgmt - gate across the front door combined with low lights makes it seem that you are closed. We almost didn't enter. Perhaps an open sign on the gate and a brighter light. Would hate to see anyone mistake you for being closed.

Tojo's Restaurant is an exceptional dining experience that should not be missed! From the moment you walk in, the staff greets you with a warm welcome and provides excellent service throughout your meal. The restaurant's interior design is elegant, with a cozy and intimate atmosphere that sets the stage for an unforgettable meal. The menu offers a wide range of Japanese dishes, each one beautifully presented and bursting with flavor. Whether you're in the mood for sushi, tempura, sashimi, or a hot entree, you won't be disappointed. The quality of the ingredients is second to none, and the attention to detail is apparent in every dish. The sushi rolls are especially noteworthy, with creative combinations that are both delicious and visually stunning. And for those who prefer cooked dishes, the teriyaki chicken and beef dishes are equally outstanding. But what truly sets Tojo's apart is the level of care and attention given to each guest. The chef, Tojo-san himself, makes a point to visit every table to ensure that everyone is enjoying their meal. His passion for food and dedication to his craft are evident in every dish that comes out of his kitchen.Overall, Tojo's Restaurant is a must-visit for anyone who appreciates exceptional food and top-notch service. Whether you're a sushi aficionado or simply looking for a memorable meal, you won't be disappointed. Highly recommended!

Amazing experience! Hands down one of the best omakase I have ever tried. Very elevated dishes and the staff were very attentive and friendly.

Tojo's is a Vancouver institution - but with the new influx of diverse and exemplary sushi restaurants that have arrived in the past few years (Masayoshi, Sushi Maumi, Raisu etc.), it is impossible to continue rating Tojo's on the same scale. The fish is fresh, the presentation beautiful, and the service lovely. But the speed of service is fast, as though to push more people through. Also the prices are breathtakingly high for what you get (again - comparing to other sushi restaurants of the same quality fish). The golden roll was fresh but lacking in presentation. The Tojo's sashimi combo was good, but at almost $70 was overpriced. Same with the seasonal tempura.

I’ve explored many sushi restaurants all along the west coast and was expecting this to be Vancouver’s best sushi; however, it wasn’t the experience Vancouverites make it to be.The sushi was great but wasn’t fantastic - favours were simple and good, and the quality of fish was good too - but for the price tag that comes along with it, it just wasn’t what I was expecting. The service; however, was great - the staff were professional and very courteous.Overall, we had a good experience at the restaurant, just that the overall food to price ratio was not what we had in mind, with it being rated “the best” in Vancouver.

What a memorable experience having the Sushi Bar Omakase at Tojo’s!Delicious and creative cuisine arrived at our table plate after plate. Seven wonderful courses. While expensive, it’s best to immerse yourself in the flavours and enjoy. Be happy with the pricing when you make the commitment to reserve, and then forget about it.We found the portions a good size, but the beauty is in the delicate flavours. Don’t expect to be stuffed and don’t arrive having not eaten all day or you won’t be able to enjoy the cuisine.Be prepared to spend $900+ for two including dinner, two drinks, and tip.

As a sushi lover, I like to try the best sushi's places all over the world and I've been told this place was the best in Vancouver. The sushi were great, I mean the fish was good. But nothing outstanding, it's a great sushi but given that the sushi menu starts at $330, it just doesn't make any sense and it isn't worth it.There about 6-7 plates, only one of them is a selection of sushi's (photo attached). We didn't even know it was finished when the chef asked us if we were still hungry, we thought it was a joke and we said well, it depends what comes next. He brought us two more plates which was surprisingly not included in the menu. No one has told us and this costed us something like 100$ extra. The place isn't anything fancy, I was expecting something much more intimate. At the bar, you can see them preparing the sushi because of the layout of the table.I don't recommend it.

All the fish sourced for these dishes was fresh and fantastic, which is what got the 3 stars. The staff were all friendly, but service was slow. Unfortunately, all the rolls we tried weren’t that great. The flavours and textures in all these rolls weren’t that great and for the high prices I expected a lot more.

Truly magical experience at Tojo’s lunch omakase! We felt like we made an instant trip to a ryotei in Japan to have such quality foods with ingredients sourced in Japan. Haven’t had actual sansho and its seeds for a long time…Don’t get me wrong, I enjoy Canadianized Japanese foods a lot. Yet still so nice to get back to the roots sometimes, having more authentic Japanese. There were decent volumes for lunch and everything was flavoured to perfection with tiniest details. Worth every penny and more!
