Insurance company utilizes them.Not impressed with the lack of follow up to messages and the when I get to it

Let me begin by saying that Luc ( the tech ) whom I have never met appears to be an honest ethical man.I have just purchased a new home, to my dismay, I have inherited this with my appliances not working.So the refrigerator was a Viking Professional Range.Luc diagnosed the problem to be a part needing replacement & had an estimate of $1000 ( parts & labour) on a 15 year old refrigerator.Ange Bruce the lady who takes the call ( I feel she has no empathy), said unfortunately the parts will be a bit more expensive so the total repair cost is going to be over $1000 as opposed to the original approximate quote from Luc.It was also confirmed that the labour cost a total of $550 ( will include the call out fee of $140), lastly she mentioned on parts Viking will ship she will charge $40.The final bill included on the other hand was:$550 for the labour$140 for the call out fee$80 for the shipping.Plus the parts were $896.22.Another bit which is unethical, I did not get a copy of cost of bill for the parts, as a part of the bill final bill from Cochrane Appliances.I was also charged GST on parts + shipping ( which would have been payed @ custom, since these were shipped from the US)The total was just billed to the credit card which would have been kept on file (without my consent).I assumed I will receive a refund i.e. $180 ( $140 for call out fee & $40 as opposed to $80 I was charged for shipping)It is now 2nd of Aug 2022, I see no refund on my credit card.This is cheating, rather fraud & as a customer I feel let down.Now my dishwasher ( which Luc had looked at also had failed), along with the washer & dryer.Now the cost of Dishwasher was quoted to be:$240 install$60 haul away feeAnge quoted me $80 for the Bosch dishwasher connector.For washer & dryer Ange quoted me an install fee of $150 each=$300 ( I was shocked, but I had decided I will do it myself)Bosch recommended, Valleyview in Calgary, they charge$190 install$40 haul away feeWith Luc having serviced my Refrigerator, I preferred him, as a tech. So I connected with Cochrane appliances forwarding them the email from Valleyview.Whilst I do respect they do not price match, but its robbery to charge $80 for a Bosch connector which I had fortunately & unknowingly ordered for $30 with my dishwasher. This appears to me very unethical, unfair & cheating customers as a part of practice from Cochrane appliances.Luc, once again you appear to be an honest, knowledgeable, reliable tech, but I don't know how he will feel if another tech office admin treats his home this way ( eg his car/ truck service etc).It is very hard earned money Luc.After reading the reviews I did call Drake appliances in Cochrane, Nathan @drake appliances, unfortunately does not do installs, but I would agree with another review, he is a honest man, he asked me to call him back if I had any questions though he does not install appliances, he will be happy to help guide me. This is a person with integrity.I hope this is an honest & fair reflection of events.Update 4th Sep 2022.The repair they did has failed. The fridge/ freezer temperature has been up over the past 3 days. I could hear the & visually see the gas leaking.THIS IS FRAUD. COCHRANE APPLIANCES IN PARTICULAR ONLY WILL WARRANTY THEIR WORK FOR THREE MONTHS.ONCE MY REPLACEMENT HAS BEEN ARRANGED & I HAVE A BIT MORE TIME AVAILABLE:I WILL NOT ONLY BE LOOKING TO REVIEW THIS FRAUDULENT SERVICE BY MY CREDIT CARD PROVIDER, AS DETAILED IN MY PREVIOUS REVIEW.I WILL ALSO PERSUE THIS VIA SMALL CLAIMS COURT.IF YOU WERE TO WRITE A REVIEW OF SIMILAR NATURE PLEASE BE PREPARED TO RECEIVE THREATENING EMAILS FROM ROB.I WILL BE REPORTING THIS TO VIKING.I WILL UPDATE MY REVIEW ONCE I HAVE MORE UPDATED DETAILS AVAILABLE.8th Sep 2022As expected, Cochrane appliances are not ethical or honest, they have not provided me with the receipts from viking. Left messages 2 days in a row with no response back whatsoever. Crickets. Went with another company that was fantastic. Drake's appliance service.

Pump in the dishwasher decided it was time to die... Rob diagnosed quickly, ordered the part and had it up and running in no time. Really appreciate the professionalism, timeliness and care he took while working in my home coupled with him just being personal and getting along with my dog :). Will rely on this company in the future. Thanks!

Our range died unexpectedly at the worst possible time. We called Rob right away and he was there within 24 hours, coming back the next day with parts and fixing our unit with no trouble at all. He is extremely friendly and knowledgeable and we would hire him again anytime!

I won't go into detail ... but numerous levels of not being ethical ... both owners and the secretary saying they told us things they didn't tell us ... and trying to let us foot the bill for a $500.00 part that didn't actually fix the problem ... it took a lot of time, effort and energy to get my money back ... I was not going to stop ... worst appliance company I have every worked with in 40 years .... the secretary is not skilled in dealing with difficult situations ....

We were able to book a repair for our wall oven the day after we called. Rob arrived promptly at the arranged hour and was able to diagnosis the problem quickly. Overall, we were very pleased with his service. His fees are attractive, his work professional and knowledgable. We would recommend him with confidence.

The belt on my washing machine snapped and I needed one quick. I was able to get one here in just two days. I wasn't able to pick it up during business hours so Rob is dropping it off for me. They went above and beyond, were super speedy and responsive. Great service from an amazing local business!

The repair guy (I can’t remember his name) called before our appointment and we told him about the problem with a banging noise in our new fridge. I told him i have a video of the noise i could send to him.He called back to say he didn’t need to come to the house, just cut the tag off the electric cord in the back which flaps when the compressor fan blows air behind the fridge (!). We cut the tag and problem solved! Amazing!! I love avoiding wasted time and money! Thank you!!

Just after Christmas, the interior lights, ice maker and water dispenser stopped working on our Kitchenaide refrigerator. We contacted the manufacturer in early January, who scheduled an appointment for us with their designated local repair company, Cochrane Appliance Repair.After taking time off work and waiting all day for someone to arrive, Cochrane Appliance Repair failed to show up for the first appointment. We were told the manufacturer failed to forward the appointment information to the repair company. A second service call was scheduled directly with Cochrane Appliance Repair, during which the technician diagnosed the issue as a faulty control panel. I was required to prepay over $500 for the replacement part, which I did. Despite the part being in stock at the supplier when the technician ordered it that day, it was only after my inquiring two months later that Cochrane Appliance Repair followed up on its whereabouts.Weeks later, during the third service call to replace the control panel, the technician determined that was not the issue, but instead the wiring harness required replacement. He ordered the wiring harness during his visit, which again indicated as being in stock at their supplier, and left taking the control panel I had prepaid for with him.Weeks later, Cochrane Appliance Repair scheduled yet another appointment to replace the faulty wiring harness, and again, after taking unpaid time off work, nobody showed up. No phone call, no email, no text, no nothing except I was out another 4 hours in lost wages and still did not have my fridge fixed.So after I contacted Cochrane Appliance Repair, they scheduled another appointment. During this appointment, the technician did not replace the wiring harness. After over 30 minutes of prying and reefing on the old wiring harness attempting to remove it using his “quick fix” method, he opted instead to try repairing multiple broken wire connections. Not surprisingly, this did not fully restore the functionality of our ice and water dispenser. The technician then left, taking the new wiring harness with him, indicating that he would need to consult the manufacturer and would call us in the morning with an update.That was over three weeks ago and we have not heard from anyone at Cochrane Appliance Repair since. I have left a voicemail and sent two emails to follow up, requesting I be fully refunded for the control panel that was not replaced. All I hear from Cochrane Appliance repair is crickets.Incompetent technician, abysmal customer care and support, and billing fraud is all you will get from Cochrane Appliance Repair.
