DO NO HIRE THEM FOR ANY HVAC OR HRV WORK: Their work is a train wreck and a disaster in the making.But why? We hired them to do major work for our new medical clinic project. Their quote was below market price. But, it turned out to be a major disaster. First they installed the HRV unit completely wrong contrary to the drawings provided. They never sought prior permissions from the lead engineer and contractor. They never asked for the drawings to be revised. When they were told to correct the mistakes; they became very argumentative. They came with all sorts of wrong explanations and asked for additional costs to cover for lift which is $600 / day.Simplex Mechanical staff members have little or next to no training. They literally pick them up few days before the job. The staff can’t even read the drawings properly. Simplex were told to cease the operations immediately as they were unwilling to correct the mistakes in the implementation of the HRV unit.We hired a different company. The new company told us right away that there were major defects in the installation of HVAC inside fan unit. In fact it was installed upside down. Yes UPSIDE DOWN. I have never witnessed this level of unprofessionalism. I called them again and they argued with me asking to cover the lift expenses - yes $600 / day- to correct their OWN MISTAKES.The ducts were loose at many points. The ducts were short in half of the rooms. They were terminated at wrong points contrary to the drawings. We had to correct all those mistakes at additional costs.We had to apply major reinforcements to the main outside HVAC unit. It had vibration issues and didn’t meet the seismic stability requirements.I didn’t want to waste my time with repeated arguments. I simply went ahead with Zero Limit and let them finish the job.
