Peanut's Bubble Tea 花生米

I have been getting bubbles teas from Peanut's since 1993 when bubble teas became popular in Taiwan and my BF at the time wanted to open a tea shop in Taiwan. In search of the perfectly-made bubble tea, he declared at the time that Peanut's drinks are the best in Vancouver: tea sufficiently strong and bubbles perfectly Q" (chewy). Since then

most popular place upstairs in the richmond public market. line up on Wednesday at 2pm. its a cool bbt & smoothie place that serves wheel cakes for $1 each. these wheel cakes are so popular. most of the flavours were sold out already. We tried the taro, coconut and cream. the taro was the best out of the 3. the cakes have a mochi outside texture with a lot of filling inside. Their original milk tea was okay. it was more milky and not roasted enough for us. prices are great for what you get.

I will never go to this place again. The owner (wife) is very rude. I called ahead and no one answered so I left a message to order ahead for the wheel pastry. Got there and the daughter asked her mom and she said no I got no call. So I said that is fine I will just take what you have. I said can I order 10 of your custard and 10 or your red bean and 6 of your taro. She no you can order 16 total and it will take 20 minutes. I am like I am ok with the time frame. My mom asked if she could order the other flavors and she said no only 16 total. The boss lady said do you want it or not , I am busy. I was about to say no, don’t want it. I paid for the 16 and when I got the items, the custard ones tasted awful. They tasted sour and with a medicine type of flavor.I don’t see the appeal. Taiwan’s one are better and customer service is much better.

We always get wheel cakes here and drinks. Very reasonably priced. Sometimes busy but well worth the wait. Fast efficient service. Highly recommend.

Got a matcha bubble tea, it was tasty and inexpensive fair price. There are so many beverage options to choose from or add on. No wonder it's always busy line up during lunch time. Will come again! Highly recommended.

Come here and have a taste of Richmond history. It's not often you can say that as there are very few of anything in Richmond that has been around as long as Peanuts. If there are less than 10 people in line you’ve hit the jackpot. Original owners from the 90’s and they are the friendliest. The quality of the tea is actually pretty good. It lacks some of the trendier options you see nowadays but when it comes to classic styles, it easily trumps Chatime. $4for a milk tea. Matcha Slush is around $5. Can't beat it.

This place is one of many food stalls that you can find upstairs in Richmond Public Market, and it's quite a gem. Their drinks cost less than most other Bubble Tea shops, but aren't any less flavorful. In fact the quality of their drinks often surpass many of the fancier bubble tea shops in town. Highly recommend the Lychee Slush! It's an absolute must try"! They also make different flavors of pastries called Che Lung Bing which are similar to the fish shaped pastry known as Taiyaki. I didn’t try the drinks, but the red bean icy dessert was very tasty. The portion is so generous, two of us couldn’t finish it! They also have a selection of round filled cakes which are great snacks.
