Decor is nice but tables set too close to each other. Waiter, patrons kept kicking my chair and I accidentally elbowed the server. Service wasn’t bad as I requested an end table with half couch which was great since it was a pre bday celebration although it took a bit of time for our waiter to take our order as we were in a bit of rush since we booked for the board game cafe at Turquoise Goat. Food wasn’t the best as we expected more being a Global restaurant. We’ve been to Global many times in the past as food and service was great there so we expected similar since there was a Michelin recommendation which I’m not sure how they got with the mediocre food. Sanafir was another amazing restaurant by Glowbal which has since closed. I ordered steak and frites and the steak was chewy with tendon fat stuck to it, so sad to say but my wife and I make better steak at a fraction of the price. Even a nice cut at Costco like a tenderloin was better! If you want steak out, it’s much better at Hys, Chop and even at good old Keg unless you want to go more high end at Gotham. Wife ordered a seafood linguini was bland. Muscle and clams were also mediocre as we’ve had more flavourful at Chambar or Seom. My wife being a very good cook can do a better job at home but the focaccia was good as we are a sucker for bread. The appy bread is not bad but the lobster oil dip which we were looking forward to didn’t compare to Joe Fortes which was free so kinda sad that something that is complimentary tastes better than something you need to pay for. But the crystalized salt in the spread was interesting as it was an interesting twist. The best thing imo was the burger the kids got but it better be good at $25. Truffle fries was also great and nice that it was a no cost upgrade. Not sure if that was standard or because we were celebrating a birthday but our waitress didn’t offer to upgrade the fries with my steak which I would have preferred. Seafood chowder was nice in the bread bowl which reassembled one of the places we ate in Disneyland. Wouldn’t go back and if I had spent the time to read the negative reviews instead of going with the Michelin recommendation I would have gone to Glowbal instead as they have a KFC burger with I think would taste better than my steak and frites at a fraction of the price. That will be for another day as we will see how Glowbal is now since it’s been a while since we’ve been when they used to be near Yaletown. If you want mediocre food that is high priced in an interesting decor environment downtown then this is the place to go.

We were there for drinks and desserts. The service was outstanding and the atmosphere was great with live music. I ordered the Riley & the Beast with less sweetness - it was delicious! The old fashioned was okay. Both of our desserts were great and we would definitely do this again!

LOVE LOVE LOVE Rileys! We had amazing dinner at the bar area with live music and great food. Amazing selections of fish, seafood and meats. Since we don't eat late we wanted liter dinner so we chose cod and halibut. My halibut was chefs special with white truffles and best melting gnocchi that I ever had in my life! Also we took cream soup and baked oysters. Covered patio seemed like a great idea with heaters and lots of greenery. Service also was very nice! I highly recommend this place.

It was a great way to finish the week after a 3 day Real Estate Conferance. The oysters were delicious! We indulged in the Classic Steamers with clams and mussels. Our server on Friday was excellent! The water and mountain views are stunning.. Riley's service and ambience is superb!"

Excellent brunch and very friendly staff. The decor is pretty. I’m not a fan of faux plants, but it did look nice and the plant wall is lovely for pictures. It would’ve also been nice to be seated in the front of the restaurant to enjoy the view but that area was closed. The hostesses and staff are all incredibly friendly and accommodating. The food is delicious. We ordered The Benny Bowl, French Toast, and Fish & Chips, all were excellent. The musician was also great, I didn’t expect live music at 11:30 am so that was a nice surprise. We’re looking forward to going back for dinner.

My wife and I went here for a long overdue date night. We used our hundred dollar gift card that we've had for a couple years. The food is pricey but delicious. We would come back to celebrate a very special occasion. We went for the dine out special ($65).The service was awesome. She (didn't get her name) was very friendly and attentive. They always kept our water topped up.Check out the photos for the three course meal we enjoyed. We tried everything--all of the dishes were incredible. My favorite was the lobster ravioli.

Went to Riley's Fish and Steak restaurant for happy hour (2:30 to 5). I had the mini lobster and shrimp sandwich duo. That was enjoyable. Also ordered the mussels with the classic sauce. The sauce was tasty but it was very little. I don't think there was even a quarter inch or 1cm of liquid at the bottom so that was disappointing. Most of my mussels were not plump and maybe overcooked or dry.Restaurant had a nice atmosphere. Patio was ok but not their fault there is pillars and small space. The service is what would make me come again. The manager came to serve us a few times and was receptive when we called him to order since there wasn't enough staff and our server was busy with other tables. And when our server was available, he was good and friendly.

My wife and I went to Riley's Fish and Steak to celebrate my birthday. We had a reservation for two but were surprised when we were led to bad seating when no other seats were occupied. I understand you want to fill the bad seats first but this wasn't the right move to make a good first impression. First thing I noticed about this seat was, the table was tiny. It wouldn't fit the two entrees and sides we were going to order. Secondly, the table was on the edge of a long line of tables, and this particular table was close to a doorway where there's a lot of traffic from service staff and customers. We asked to move to a different table and - I don't know if this was a good table or not. From this table our view was mostly the service staff as they were working close to the bar. We were also relatively close to the bathroom. But at least the table was bigger. This was probably the best they could give us because the restaurant was 80% empty. We started with a dozen Oysters and Wagyu Carpaccio; both were great. We had Spritzer, and Red Sangria; they were not memorable. That concluded our happy hour orders. Actually, so far so good.Next are the sides and the entrees. The Crispy Brussels Sprouts were excellent. Very crispy, a bit bitter, everything went well together. No complaints at all.The Smoked Salmon & Caviar Potato Rosti was great, probably the best for that night, but could do without the salmon and caviar. I didn't even notice the caviar to be honest. Potato Rosti itself was very crispy on the outside and just as creamy inside. The Truffle Fries were standard.I ordered Beef Striplion and my wife ordered Sablefish. I didn't want the Coq au vin or Seafood tower because we came here for fish and steak. I read their fish are done perfectly, their steaks are buttery tender.. so really, we couldn't wait. The experience that followed reminded me to always have low or no expectations. Or else we are just setting ourselves up for disappointments. In this case, we were. The Striploin was okay. it's not as tender as I hoped. I shared it with my wife, and she said it was Meh."The sablefish really let us down. Partly because I thought it is very difficult to mess up sablefish with its high fat content. And we have only had good experiences with sablefish when we dined out in the past. Sadly it is true that there is a first for everything. That includes undercooked sablefish with rubbery skin that was too difficult for us to cut.As my wife was lamenting about the entrees
