Great museum, the stairs were hard but manageable for our kids.

We had a great time on our tour, the tour guide was very knowledgeable and clearly had a passion for the preservation of this piece of local history. The ship itself has been restored with lots of care and you can see many parts of it including the bridge, lounge, galley, mess halls and various living quarters. Some rooms of the ship have been turned into mini exhibits for local history. The ship has some great views of the bay and there are a few Trolley Buses you can visit as well.I highly recommend visiting!

We arrived within 45 minutes of closing but they had no qualms with letting us visit and offering the tour. The curator did not rush and made sure we saw all we could see. Wouldn't recommend trespassing on their goodwill but thankful they gave us the full tour experience, he was clearly passionate about the ship and the experience!

The Alexander Henry, a retired Canadian Coast Guard Ship, is now a Historical Heritage Museum ship located at the end of Sleeping Giant Parkway, also known as Pool #6 in Thunder Bay. Recently a contract with Norwegian Viking Cruise Lines" has been negotiated for The Octantis to dock at the Alexander Henry enroute from a 7 day Great Lakes tour between Thunder Bay & Milwaukee. Boarding can be arranged at either port. Beautiful new developments are under way at this location on the waterfront of Thunder Bay Ontario. The Ocean Navigator will also dock along it's journey from Duluth Minnesota to Milwaukee Wisconson

Walking through the ship very was interesting. It was like being in a different era and it was neat to see what the inside of a ship looks like. Also it's a piece of Thunder Bay history.

This is a great stop if you're in the area, the guided tour takes around 45 mins. My guide was very knowledgeable about the ship and its history. Price of admission was only $15.An added bonus was seeing a Viking cruise ship docking right next to it.

A hidden gem for sure!! We had the pleasure of a small guided tour by Lily, a local high school student who knew absolutely everything about this ship and it's operations. Her knowledge and ability to answer our questions was just as impressive as the large ship. If you are looking for something different to do, I highly suggest taking some time to explore the Alexander Henry. Oh, and don't forget after your tour you can explore some early street cars that were used in the city. Enjoy!!

This would be much better in the summer! It's still pretty cool to see. Love to see the water frozen on the lake.
