Legacy Taekwondo Martial Arts Before and After School Program

I myself and my children enjoy training here, it is a very positive place and my children have improved a lot with discipline and confidence. Tae Kwon do has been very beneficial in our lives. My whole family feels more focused even outside of the gym, at work and as well in school. Everyone should come down and try this place out. 5 stars in my opinion.

EXTREME CAUTION RECOMMENDED!! Do not entrust these people with your most prized possession, your children.Our 7 year old daughter was refused entry to get on the bus for after school care and left alone at the school. There is no situation where this is acceptable without even attempting to notify the parents.The detailsWe were informed on the evening of October 7, 2022 that our CC payment did not go through for the month. (To be clear, this was due to an error with staff taking our card number down wrong initially not due to insuficient funds) This was the Friday evening of a long weekend. I mentioned that it was my wife’s card and that i would contact them once i got home and had spoke with her. Nothing was mentioned at this time that she would be refused entry to the bus the next day if we did not pay immediately. By the time my wife arrived home it was after 8pm and we planned instead to settle the matter on the following Tuesday (next business day)Unfortunately, we were not given even 24 business hours from being notified before the following occurred.We received no notice from Legacy TaeKwonDo that our daughter would be refused entry to the bus before being called by the school the following evening Tuesday October 11, 2022, who let us know she was left their, and more specifically, the school let us know that Legacy TaeKwonDo told them it was due to non payment of our bills, which I'm pretty sure is a breach of information.When approached to discuss the matter later that day the owner had no remorse for the situation and felt they were just in their actions of reckless abandonment of a minor to retrieve payment. They mentioned that it was not their responsibility to reach out and call in advance or try to chase down payments.Anyone who puts the welfare of a child second to collecting a bill that essentially was less than 24 hours past due from time of notification should not be entrusted with such responsibility.We tried to look past the unfinished conditions, tile floors not finished, no doors on change rooms, and overcrowded playroom with more than 30 kids at a time, and give it a chance, but we simply can not excuse this and feel compelled to share our experience with others.We wish you luck in finding a better solution for your child.

Great Club, Great Instructors, Fantastic environment! We are very happy to see a club that makes you work hard learn every skill/movement correctly and actually earn every single belt. It is the smaller details as well that make this club higher notch such as; every class students are lined up according to belt rank (level) This is a sign of respect and shows the students how they can move up in the line with lots of training and practice, also gives them goals....such a small gesture with such big meaning. Even though BBW has other locations nothing about it feels commercialized and how great when we are visiting family we can drop into an affiliate Black Belt World to take a class.

Master Anna and Tony go above and beyond anything I was expecting! My son has been having some behavioural issues and since starting in November he has made leaps and bounds. I attribute a lot of his progress with being apart of this facility. In the short time he has been there, his patience, self-regulation and confidence has had major improvements. As his mother, you can only imagine my gratitude.

I have been looking for a quality martial art school to enroll my 2 children, I truly believe what you pay is what you get. I walk in to Black Belt World is was very impress with the size and how the place was set up. I observe the class that was in session and how the instructing was teaching the student. I recommend taking a look and you'll be as impressed as I was. The staff took the time to explain to me what the program consist of. I would highly recommend Black Belt World.

I cannot say enough fantastic things about the BBW before & after school care program, and the team that works at the Barrie location. My son is treated like family. In four short months he has developed a passion for taekwondo, that I believe is a direct result of the leadership he has received from Master Anna and Miss Evelyn. Mr. Tony goes out of his way to ensure that each child feels special, and that the rules are followed by everyone. Ms. Judi treats each child as her own and I know that my son is safe in her care. We are so pleased to have found a facility that perfectly matches our needs.

My son started at Black Belt World just over a month ago. He loves taking classes with Master Anna and enjoys watching the older kids during their classes as well. He can't wait to achieve his yellow belt. Classes are helping to build his confidence and respect for himself and others.

Be careful with your prepaid payment and if if you decide to stop. We decided to stop going because our kids wanted to try something else. They said they would keep our account open so if we were to come back they wouldn’t have to go through all the paperwork again. Boom, 7 months later, $226 was charged on our credit card. We called many times, finally someone told me nothing was showing like i asked for our membership to stop. They did when i spoke to them for the 5th time bit they don’t want to give us our money back. It also happen to someone i know, so be careful if you decide to stop tour membership that they really are doing it.

Black Belt World is our second home, not only for training but for all the care, support, and encouragement they offer our children. Each staff member has taken the time to get to know us personally and in return have created individualized ways of teaching each of their members. They believe in honesty and discipline and carrying those qualities forward to the next generation. We have experienced other clubs but won't call anywhere else home. Thank you to all the staff who make each day a learning experience for each of us. Never give up!

Highly recommend this school to anyone looking to enroll their children in martial arts! The school offers amazing instructors who give each and every student the individual attention they deserve to help them succeed. The staff is very caring and welcoming and truly care about the students and their success. Definitely recommend checking them out!
