Enterprise Car & Van Hire - Southend-on-Sea

Bunch of scammers! Never use! They are trying to charge me £300 for fixing spindles on working windscreen wipers! Disgusting and diabolically bad service. They give out their broken cars to you, claim you have broken them and then charge you to fix them!! Absolutely awful businessEdit: 1/03/2023:So even after paying the disgusting £300 invoice, I have been charged twice again anyway 14 days later!!!I am absolutely disgusted at the audacity of how you guys have charged me twice for an damage report invoice!I know it was stated in the invoice document but I expect to not be charged twice regardless if i’ve paid upfront!!Be warned of using this service!

Very welcoming,great staff, would rent from them again.Also, on time, when picking up customers to collect vehicles and more than happy to take you home if prior booked.

I have been using there service for a while now. Very professional friendly staff. They also offer drop offs if needed. Reasonable price compare to other companies. I recommend you to book online if you like to save £5-10 pounds.

Amazing service, easy booking in system on the website.Had a bit of a hiccup, unfortunately the system was wrong and they didn't have the van that I required, called me first thing to let me know but said they could get me one around 3:30pm but I needed it from 10am and only for today, Harry said he would make some calls and to give him an hour, 5 minutes later he said he's found a van which he could collect from Grays but it would be with me by 12pm - Not ideal but better than 3:30. Service was first class from booking, collection and drop off.

I hate to leave a negative review but I was left with no car with 1 hours notice which ruined my plans for a weekend break.This time I had planned a drive to Poole and was told within an hour of the collection time that a car wouldn't be available. This is awful, and I wasn't able to find a suitable car nearby so had to cancel my break.I have used this branch on 5 occasions and whilst the staff are very friendly and professional, they are being let down by a lack of automatic cars. On every booking I have been asked to come later because an automatic car won't be ready in time, on one occasion I had to wait 2 hours for a car to be ready.I'm so disappointed as Enterprise had always been my go to rental company, but now I can't ever trust them because they might cancel at the last minute.

Had a courtesy whils vehicle was in for repairs. During the time I was allowed the vehicle, I had to change it 2 times.- offered similar size car due to health issue but got the smallest of cars. Hyundai i10.- one vehicle needed returning due to engine management light. Terribly old and tatty vehicle. Clutch about to go as was so high.- on that return I was informed of a slight nic on a tyre. Not my doing but was advised £500 would be taken from my account and then refunded the difference after the tyre was replaced.- I decided to replace tyre myself with new one locally, only to find that the company I used, does the work for enterprise and stated they (enterprise) always get people on little issues, unnecessarily and unfairly.- Out of pocket £80 for an issue I can’t prove was not my own doing, feel like the staff were aware of this before I hired vehicle. Didn’t get a chance to check round vehicle initially as pouring with rain and tyres all wet, so wouldn’t have noticed the nic prior to my hire.- staff took great pleasure in accusing me of damaging the tyre.Wouldn’t use enterprise again. Untrustworthy and feel I was taken advantage of as they were well aware I needed to get the replacement vehicle.**update, I sent an email as requested on the reply to this post but then heard nothing **

Worst rental in the UK probably, they take money from your account whatever they want , was late 10min to bring on time and the guy try charge me 100£ , what a joke , don’t use this scammers !!!

The long wheelbase van provided was exactly what was required, it was clean and ready to go for the booked collection time and Lloyd, in his ever smiling/ever pleasant manner, ensured all was well before I drove away.I really like this Enterprise branch and appreciate how hard the team works. Thanks to them all.

One touch repairs garage who is carrying repairs on my car instructed Enterprise at Southend to provide a car to me. Enterprise Southend told me there is no car available at all not even in Leigh. I called Leigh and asked if i could hire a car and guess what they had a car available.

Awful service. Electric car pushed onto me because my car wasn't ready, after trying to get rid of the car with two people before me. Didn't really leave me with a choice to say no after repeatedly advising I don't really know how it works with charging etc.Received parking fine for charging car in the wrong place, Enterprise sent this two weeks late which put the cost up on the PCN. After pushing back I have had no response and charged £35 for the privilege.Absolute joke of a branch.
