Aspira Waterford Barrie Retirement Living

My parents decided recently to move into the Waterford and we were concerned it would be difficult transition. The facility is great but it is the people that would make the difference. Our contact Katherine not only communicated well but went over and above to make our Parents feel comfortable. It was truly special to hear that she even went to Service Ontario and a couple of stores to help them out. It is always the people that make places special. Thank you.

The Waterford's administrative and clinical leadership is excellent, and this is reflected in the safe and caring environment that is provided for residents. The interior is beautiful, and excellent programs are provided. Communication with family members is great and the team is responsive to requests. Our dad has made two internal moves during his time there, and we appreciated the staff support to make both moves happen quickly and efficiently.

Very disappointed in this home ever since it changed hands it went down hill. My Dad has been there for eight years and had see alot of changes, not for the good. The food was very good before the new company came into play. Just recently my father had two falls . He had been sent back and needs assistance so my sister coming in alot to help cause staff is to busy. My father is too ill to go down for his meals they only gave him THREE days grace of giving his meals into his room, he is still not feeling well to go down but is now being charged for bringing his meals to his room. A 9.00 charge per plate. This is ridiculous. House keeping does not do a good job, we have mentioned it to the manager many time nothing get resolved, so, my sister and I come in to do their job.

Jodi and Katherine were of enormous help to me and my family as we moved my mother into the Waterford residence in Mar/April, during a pandemic no less. The staff have been very accommodating and my family is glad to know that she's safe where she is. The move went without a hitch, and my mother is very happy living there. She spent her 89th birthday at the residence and they made her feel special and celebrated. Couldn't ask for more.- Ray D.

I can't say anything bad about the facilities. Their accounting and business practices on the other hand are atrocious. They billed our family twice now for large amounts of money by mistake. If we weren't watching the bills and if we hadn't of asked for a refund they would of kept it. They would nit provide my dad with a paper invoice. We asked for a refund 3 months ago and still have not received a check.

The Waterford is a very beautiful place. My friends mother lives there and I could not believe how nice her Room is, so bright and cheery. The day I went with her to visit they had baked shortbread cookies and we were invited to listen to a live musician who came to perform there (lucky surprise)! I'm told they do this all the time. After the concert we went for a walk and there was a movie theatre right in the building. The employees seemed very nice and helpful. We did not want to leave.

We recently moved my dad into Waterford.Due to COVID and the logistics of moving my dad from out of province was very challenging. Katherine understood our challenges and went over and above to assist with making the move as smooth as possible. Katherine was always available to take our calls and ensure that our concerns were addressed. The customer service that Katherine provides is of the highest standard.Additionally, my dad has relayed to us, all staff are friendly and helpful and as well he is really enjoying the food.Thanks Katherine and the Waterford team.

My mother recently moved into the Waterford residence in Barrie . Her move-in went very smoothly, even though the residence was in lockdown. The staff has been very accomodating and has put myself and my siblings at ease, and I know my mother is in the best care possible. My mother has already made friends and she feels very at home in her new place. The grounds are also beautiful. My only minor complaint is that when we did the initial virtual tour and were given information about what was included in the cost, we were given the impression that the services provided in the hair and nail salon were included in the total cost. It turns out that the people working in the salon are independent contractors, and so the cost is not in fact included, but an extra charge.

Where to begin! The Waterford has been an absolute blessing to our family. When we needed to move my Uncle closer to family here in Barrie we spoke with a number of homes in the area and this one stood out by far. We did know a resident previously, they had nothing but good things to say!While we did have to move my Uncle during a pandemic, we expected some hiccups along the way but the staff took care of everything and made the process seamless. Katherine has been a pleasure to work with and Jodi has made sure my Uncle is well taken care of. In addition to all of the staff being super friendly, they have a welcoming committee made up of residents which has made things a lot easier.My uncle did have somewhat of a unique situation in terms of his age/disability but the Waterford has welcomed him with open arms and our family can truly say we have never seen him so happy!I would also like to mention the precautions they have taken COVID wise assure us that my Uncle is more than safe.Thank you to all the staff at the Waterford!

The Waterford staff are helpful, friendly and personable. The building is very well designed and perhaps even elegant in the appointment of decor and furnishings in the common areas. Was very impressed with the activity programs offered and even more with the facilities itself such as the library, entertainment area, and movie cinema. Wonderful retirement community.
