Jon did an amazing job on my shiplap feature wall! I reached out for a quote with a tentative idea, Jon supplied me with pictures of past work, suggestions and we worked together to finalize the work to be done. The quote was a little higher than I was expecting but the workmanship, detail and finished product were well worth the extra $$$.

We heard about Fresh Carpentry through a social media recommendation. We had previously been working with another contractor who was hired to install 3 new fiberglass doors. Unfortunately, this contractor damaged one of the doors while installing it and then left us hanging in the middle of the job, refusing to install our other doors. We were leaving for vacation two days after terminating the current contractor and needed this work done ASAP.I called John at Fresh Carpentry. After explaining our situation, and despite his very busy schedule, he came right over the next night, after a long work day and had a look at the scope of work required. He spent a lot of time in our home on that first visit, measuring and talking to us about the job. He explained in detail exactly what would be done to insure that the door installation was perfect. He was very understanding and empathetic to our current situation and was able to accommodate us at the last minute.From the moment I met John, I felt that he was honest, trustworthy and paid close attention to detail. We left for vacation and John installed the remaining two doors while we were away. I had no problem giving him access to our home while we were not there. He gave us a price on installing the doors and indicated the amount of time that it would take to complete the job. As it turned out, he ran into some problems with the installation, due to the settling etc. of our older home. John spent over 12 hours on the first day making sure that everything was perfect. He obviously did not plan on the job taking this long, however, he stuck firm to his quoted price. We were extremely happy with our doors and the quality of workmanship. We have a security system and had to order two new sensors for our new doors, which arrived after John had completed the install. Although this was not part of the initial quote, John came back to our home and installed the sensors for us and did not charge us.John was also able to come back to our home and reinstall the damaged door from the previous contractor. In the end, John charged us less than what we were quoted by the initial contractor and the quality of his work was far superior. I would highly recommend John and Fresh Carpentry. John is now doing some work for our son at his cabin and will soon be working with us to remodel our bathroom. You will be hard pressed to find a more dedicated, honest, hard-working contractor! John will go above and beyond to insure that his clients are happy and satisfied!Tammy

I contracted John to build us a custom fireplace mantle for our long living room. It ended up being 14’ long and he worked really hard to ensure the stain matched the rest of the wood finishing in our home. The staining process proved tricky due to an issue with the original wood he sourced. The project wound up taking close to 6 months to complete which was longer than I’d hoped, but it’s my understanding that John had to rebuild with new material to ensure the stain came out right on the wood. This is much appreciated, and he also worked to get the install flush to the wall- no small feat with a 14ft space!!! Overall I am so happy with the end product. John created a unique custom piece that is a highlight of our home now. I recommend working with him.

John stuns me with his Craftsmanship and attention to detail. I am very comfortable referring jobs to customers of mine I am unable to take on as he is always on point with them and gives them a high level of service with what I think may be one of the best finished products in the industry. Not only does he take craftsmanship seriously, but he also does not mess around with someones home. He does everything to code or in many cases better than code, gets proper inspections and educates customers on the proper way to do things.

John at Fresh Carpentry & Contracting was recommended to us when we were looking to have the wood trim that was rotting around our garage door upgraded to metal cladding & maintenance free. He sent out one of his contractors who did a great job, in a timely manner and left his work area spotless. We were so impressed we asked him for some help with a fairly big job repairing the mudding of basement walls prior to us painting. Once again he sent out two of his mudders who made repairs in four rooms in our basement. They did it in a timely manner, were very accommodating, did a professional job and we felt what he charged us was very reasonable. Very impressed with John and his company. We will definitely use him again and highly recommend him.

John has done two renovations for us, our living room and our master bathroom. John is the extremely professional and the quality of his work is second to none. From the planning stage through completion, John engaged us every aspect of the renos with suggestion to improve our original plan, to ongoing updates as supply chain issues impacted the job. He stepped in to coordinate supply of the bathroom vanity when it was clear that the vendor was having difficulty. We highly recommend Fresh Carpentry and Contracting for your next renovation.

We had our movers in on a Monday to move our furniture and things out of the house into a container. They had a bit of an accident which cracked the wooden bracket that holds the handrail going upstairs. John was contacted by one of the movers to see about repairing it and within a few hours John called me to see if he could help. He came by that evening, took the piece off and took it home assuring us that it would be fixed and reinstalled before we had to leave for our new home on the Thursday. True to his word, he brought the repaired piece back on Wednesday afternoon and reinstalled it. It looks as good as new!!John was extremely personable, kind and we appreciated how quickly he had the job fixed. He is a true craftsman who cares about the job he is doing and the people for whom he is working . I honestly cannot say enough good things about him. Thank you John for making a stressful time just a little less stressful!

John and his team did a fantastic job updating our ensuite, main bathroom along with our office. John and his crew are very professional, kept clean work site, great workmanship and attention to details. Very accommodating for scheduling and coordination of on site work.
