Bought a new 20hp EFI motor this year to replace an aging 25hp 2 stroke motor and had a lot of questions initially and a lot of questions when it came time to do the initial maintenance. I used Mercury's website to ask questions and they have been most impressive in their responses, both in time and quality of information, even talking me out of more expensive lubricants to use the lines they thought more appropriate for my motor. I have not had any issues with the motor so can only speak for the online customer service which has been vastly superior to most companies contact us" q&a sites. Oh

This company is so backwards, you’re only given 12 hours of PTO every semester meaning every 6 months, in order to get your PTO you have to work a minimum of two hours into your shift so you can’t call in sick you have to work part of your shift just to call in sick this is downright almost illegal. The Union is Useless. The motors are also garbage.

They denied my warranty claim when I had coverage up to 2026… their representive told me false information and a supervisor had to call me and correct the representative. After they denied me on my 2018 engine with only 600 hours, they decided not to prorate my coverage back to me so I have warranty on an engine that doesn’t work until 2026 now! Crazy!! #mercurymarine #mercurymarinewarranty #mercurymarineproblems

This is a great place to work. I've been here for 9 years now and have worked in a few different plants and several positions in each. There's no perfect job but, Mercury treats their employees well and the FACT that you're helping to build the best marine motors in the world just adds to your feeling of pride in what you do.

If I could give 0 stars or less I would. We are fairly new boat owners, this would be our 3rd season, but unfortunately that will have to wait until next summer. We had some boat issues before we put our boat in the water in spring. We went to a Mercury dealer/repair center, which was mistake one. By the time they diagnosed the issue it was mid-July. This issue requires a new engine block. They call, Mercury has a few in stock, we give them half the cost and we wait and wait and WAIT. Here we are, a month later, and the engine hasn't been shipped. We have offered to pick it up but they refuse. They claim covid is slowing everything down, half staff at the manufacturer, etc, but if you have the engine and a customer waiting and willing to pick it up, what's the problem??? This has been the most frustrating process ever. I will definitely never get a Mercury engine of any type ever again!!!

Stay away from Mercury Marine. Last June, we went through a reputable dealer to purchase a new motor for our dinghy. We tried to order a foreign motor but was persuaded to purchase a MM motor because of availability issues (pandemic related). We literally used our dinghy 1 time in 2020 and stored the motor in an upright position on a stand inside my home. This summer when i pulled the motor out to install it, i noticed a puddle of oil on my floor below the motor. I also noticed the plastic ring that separates the shaft from the top portion of the motor was cracked. It appears the leak originated from under that ring. We contacted the vendor and they referred us to several shops who could address the problem. We've now taken it to Tracker Marine Boat Center twice as the engine continues to leak oil. We've been told it's because it was laid down during transport (mind you they placed it in my vehicle); and it's because of excess oil in the engine (after they worked on it and I assume didn't overfill it with oil). The engine continues to leak and I've got concerns that I could get fined by the coast guard if they see a rainbow trail behind our dinghy due to the dripping oil. They often float in and out of our marina. We contacted MM customer service today as we would like to return the motor due to it's poor quality. They advised they do not accept returns and we now have to take it to another vendor to have it repaired. They also haven't offered to pay for transporting this engine to multiple locations to have it serviced. Poor customer service and poor quality.

Great place to work, great products! As always, you will get some bad reviews. It seems you will get employees who either just don't want to work, or complain at any job they have. But it really is a great place to work! And the quality of these engines is second to none. Like anything in life, you may get a problem here and there, but that's life. Nothing can be produced perfect 100% of the time. But believe me, between the line workers, the people in charge of quality, the supervisors-everyone wants, and really strives to, build a great product always.
