Terra Landscaping has been around for 40 years. Their knowledge of landscaping is second to none and the work they do with living walls is incredible. I would recommend Terra to anyone!

Terra Landscaping provided a detailed landscape design for our front yard and rooftop garden/patio. The projects involved stripping away the existing landscaping and installing concrete walkways with a textured design, stone masonry pillars, an impressive variety of plants, some garden walls, landscape lighting and an irrigation system. They are very knowledgeable, trustworthy and easy to work with.

June 2021 - We chose Terra as their consultation process was attentive and professional, offered quicker service and they seemed very eager to provide services. Price was similar to other quotes. We had our own design and had chosen paving stones. Hired them for grading and sloping the back yard, a paver patio/walkway, and sod. Overall this was an extremely disappointing service. In consultation they were very reassuring, suggesting to me “I didn’t want to make the wrong choice in landscape company and end up with standing water on the property” and that’s exactly what I have. An improperly drained property. Their first “completion of the grading” was visibly rounded in the middle of the yard to the naked eye. When I pointed this out he claimed this was just a “run through to see if there were any deficiencies, not the final result”. Well a child could see that top soil was spread over old weeds, but never sloped or graded. He did admit the grading got a bit lost in the other aspects of the job. They did come back and work on that side again but the other side of the yard divided by the completed patio walkway was never graded and sloped. I had to work it by hand myself to improve. When I mentioned this to him his response, “why didn’t you call us back again”. At this point we’d had several tense interactions where I felt I wasn’t getting fully honest answers or professional results. You shouldn’t have to be walked through every basic aspect of the job you were hired for. There were also moments of dishonestly where they reported they hauled extra top soil in, we questioned this as there was always someone home and none of us had seen them bring in more product in fact two other companies stated we had too much existing product to properly grade and slope and there would possibly be extra costs for removal (review of a neighbours exterior garage camera in the days in question revealed no top soil was ever brought in). The patio installation was nice, we do have some movement now of pavers and cracking and heaving of the patio though and one area of the patio holds water when it rains. My husband had to reflux the paver step to the back door. Sod installation was without issue, but they didn’t dig down and remove old weeds, they compacted top soil over existing weeds. When I brought this up he said it was difficult as I had a pile of top soil existing on the yard that was a bit in the way - this was correct but this soil was there when each company came and walked the yard and quoted. They wanted to charge 500$ extra for rebar found in one area that they eventually pushed some down under the step. When I agreed to pay the extra for the rebar but brought up the property was never graded and sloped properly (therefore I was already paying for services never completed) their worker became quite unprofessional, raising his voice (a neighbour witnessed this behaviour as well) He came back twice asking for the extra money which in my estimation I had already paid given they never properly graded and sloped the property. Was very stressful, the project was not on time and numerous small dishonesties, lack of standards left me with a very poor impression of this team.
