Family Pet Hospital & 24 Hour Pet Emergency Centre

Great place for emergencies. A little pricey however they helped my kitten during an emergency and provided me with meds for her as well for 5 days! She has finally stopped drooling after 2 days of the meds so very grateful :)

I had a terrible experience there. The vet didn't care about my dog's well being and wanted to risk him with an unnecessary test. I suspected it was risky and my vet confirmed it the next morning. And now it's been a year since my dog passed and they are so insensitive, they sent a happy birthday wish by email, when it's not even his birthday. Ayear ago, the vet didn't want to release the xray I paid for so that I could go to a different vet. I find it incredibly rude and unjustified. I strongly suggest people to avoid this clinic, even if it's at night, go somewhere else out of town.

I want to thank you all so much for your amazing support and compassion. I had to rush my dog in on Saturday due to her age and her deteriorating within hours. I knew it was time to let her go in peace and did not want her to suffer. When I phoned the hospital the receptionist who answered was so kind, supportive, patient and caring, whilst I’m crying the whole time. They got us to bring Daisy in as soon as we could get there and took us straight into a room when we arrived.They gave us all the time we needed to be with Daisy and to say our goodbyes. Kyle was amazing and so gentle with her, Dr Thomas was so sympathetic and caring, he even passed me the tissue box. I appreciate all your support and care to send my beautiful dog off in peace. Thank you also for the lovely sympathy cards, my Daisy’s ashes, her paw prints and fur, that I collected from you today.

If there is another 24 hour emergency vet in Lethbridge please let me know because this is the second time I’ve been here and it’s been an incredibly frustrating experience.I brought my dog in to get a cut looked at because my usual vet did not have openings soon enough. A vet student and a vet came in to do the initial exam. I was asking questions about what they thought might’ve happened and didn’t get any response, which concerned me because them not saying anything made me think it was serious. I was told they needed to shave a clean the area which would be $50 which I agreed to. They brought him back to do that and the student came back on her own and gave him back to me, I asked a bunch of questions about the injury and after care and she kept saying “I don’t know, I’m not really sure” but never offered to bring the vet in to answer my questions. The nurse came in to give me some cleansing solution and topical antibiotics and let me know it was just a hot spot. Relieved I went to pay and I was charged $200, I realize owning a pet is a privilege and I don’t usually gripe about the costs involved BUT I was told the cleaning was $50 so I asked the receptionist if the cleansing solution and the antibiotics was $150 and she said no the appointment always starts at $99…. Which I was never told going in. Just frustrated with the communication levels. If they had suspected a hot spot from the beginning I wish they had said something as I would’ve been able to treat that on my own and just purchased the topical antibiotics.

Absolutely horrible experience my dog was having trouble delivering her puppies. They told us to rush in so we did as soon as we got there they told us the vet on call didn’t know how to deliver puppies AFTER TELLING US TO COME IN AS SOON AS POSSIBLE, and turned us away and told us to go home. Absolutely had no idea what they were talking about on the phone. Didn’t even get vitals or anything on our dog while we were in nothing. Absolutely nothing. Emergency care is NOT anything they are capable of doing. Don’t take your pets here.

We fostered a dog and first brought him in for his neuter, the front desk lady was rude , the technician was amazing. Then we returned a month later as the foster had to get dewormer meds. Again we were treated as second class citizens by front desk lady while she decided to be completely unethical and unprofessional with my husband discussing problems with the rescue and almost refusing to give us meds that we were paying for. Doesn’t seem like animal health first.We then adopted said rescue and went to our own vet and they didn’t want to release the papers without permission that they do indeed have. I must say I love our vet and would never recommend going here, I have no idea about the vets at his hospital but optics are everything and being treated poorly when you are helping an animal is in poor taste. I appreciate that they work with rescues but I don’t need to know the issues they are having by unprofessional front desk staff. Maybe revisit why you are in the business of helping animals and some training on confidentiality.

Would not recommend to anybody. I felt like they just toyed with our emotions to help our animal. Vet tech literally dropped our dog when they suspected a spinal injury. Left with $1000 bill but no diagnosis. I would give a zero if I could.

This place doesn’t even deserve 1 star. my friend took her dog here last night as she was giving birth to her puppies. They told her to rush in but then as soon as they arrive they say the vet on call doesn’t know how to DELIVER PUPPIES. I’m sorry but don’t call yourself a vet if you can’t deliver PUPPIES. Maybe go back to school and learn some more! They turned her away and told her to go home. DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE. Maybe don’t call yourself a “24 hour emergency clinic” if you can’t do anything.

would give 0 stars if I could. my friend took her dog here last night as she was having difficulties giving birth to her puppies. They tell her on the phone to rush in and bring her and then say their “vet” doesn't know what to do….How’s this an emergency vet? do not advertise that you are an emergency 24 hour vet when you can’t help. If you claim to be vets maybe you should be able to birth puppies. Disgusting.
