On behalf of The Hamilton Literacy Council, as Executive Director, I would like to give a shout out to Vanessa Green. Vanessa applied to serve on The Hamilton Literacy Council Board of Directors in April of 2022. Vanessa’s passion for literacy and her desire to use her talent and expertise to give back to the Hamilton Community were the reasons she gave for applying. After interviewing Vanessa, checking her background (which was impressive) and her references (which were glowing), Vanessa was hired. In addition to her governance work Vanessa has signed up to serve on 2 committees, one focusing on our social media presence, the other making plans for celebrating our 50th Anniversary. Vanessa is also helping the board with improving internal communication and record keeping. In her brief time on the board Vanessa has made noteworthy contributions, but what we are most excited are the plans that are afoot. Another shout out may not be long in coming!
