Jaybird Studio — Queen St.
Othership Breathwork with Renelyn Quinicot was a really new and interesting class for me and I'm glad I went. It's different from a silent meditation and requires a lot of dynamic breath work exercises so if you're curious to expand on meditation I'd give this a try. I also liked the live instruments; using sound and vibrations helped me stay grounded in the experience. Lastly, the community part of the class was lovely. Renelyn encouraged us to speak with someone in the studio for a few minutes and making that brief connection was surprisingly refreshing and enjoyable. My only critique is that the sounds was a bit loud for me. It looks like they'll be rotating different instructors as part of a partnership with Othership. Mats, towels and eye covers are provided. The heat is turned off in the studio for this but is still quite warm. I recommend bringing layers and a bottle of water.In terms of the actual space, Jaybird is beautiful, clean and has all standard amenities: Lockers, individual change rooms, shower rooms and washrooms. The receptionist was helpful and they sell merchandise on the side. I would come back to check out other classes.A note on mobility: The studio is up stairs and I don't think there's an elevator. Take off your shoes before entering.

I love going to Jaybird! The best hot Pilates studio I've been to in Toronto, for mat Pilates inspired workouts. The instructors are all amazing and the loud music is perfect! 10/10 I recommend this place all the time

Did my first jaybird class at the end of March and have been hooked ever since. I work in a very fast paced environment, so doing these classes have been a form of escape for me. Love the environment and the trainers. 10/10 recommend this place.

The burn class is the best workout class I've tried in the city! My co-worker and I are completely obsessed. No other workout classes in the city compare to this class. The encouragement and guidance from the instructors are awesome and the heat adds a killer twist. Would recommend.

Truly one of the best hot pilates/yoga studios in Toronto. The space is gorgeous and super clean, the scent is amazing and the teachers guide you on a spiritual journey to inner calm.Love that mats are already set up, you just have to bring yourself!If you really want a spicy workout, try Shira’s The Burn you won’t regret it.The only minor thing is that the locker area can get quite busy when there’s back to back classes, so perhaps added a bit extra time between classes would be helpful.

Jaybird has easily become my new favourite infrared heated studio in Toronto! The studio itself is beautiful and always very clean. I come here 2-3x per week in the mornings for the burn" class and leave feeling refreshed

I love, love, love The Balance. In my opinion, it’s the best class at Jaybird. The combo of restorative stretch + release with the infrared makes for a truly yin experience. My nervous system always fully resets after every class. That said, I just did The Build and it was just not for me. It felt like yoga fitness where none of the yoga moves were credited to yoga. Like yoga sped up without the spirit. And finally, The Burn. True to its name, if you need a quick burn, that’s a good class too. I’ll prob only be going in for The Balance from now on, wish there were morning times.

Obsessed with this place! Each class is done in a heated, dark room by candle light and it is the perfect place to unwind, challenge yourself, and tune out from the craziness outside. Each instructor is unique in their teaching and class style so it is refreshing to walk into a new experience each time. Definitely look forward to visiting every time I'm in Toronto :)

Had my first class at Jaybird Studio recently and it was a sweaty sweaty workout! Friend and I tried “The Burn”. Love the concept and vibe of the studio. The workout was simple to follow. Was drenched in sweat afterwards. Definitely a unique workout to be doing in candlelight in a dark room. Super inclusive space where the change room/washroom is gender neutral. All amenities are provided for you (yoga mat, face towel, towels for shower, shampoo/conditioner/body wash, water station). You do have to use a mat cover on top of your yoga mat though – we did get a complimentary rental since it was our first class (or you can bring your own). Overall, beautiful studio, great workout!

My favourite studio in the city. The facility is clean and has everything you might need (lockers, water fountain, showers etc.), the classes are challenging and I always leave feeling great. The rooms are very warm - perfect for a winter workout. Staff and instructors have all been so friendly and helpful.
