Michael Hill Guildford Town Centre

It was a worst experience ever. We bought a diamond necklace for $500 from guildford michael hills and it broke. We went to mc aurther glenn michael hills to get it fixed. We paid $70 for repair and it broke from the same place again same night. We gave it again for repair and it broke again after 2 weeks from same place. Its a waste of money

I have been a loyal customer of Michael Hill Jewelers for several years, making multiple purchases ranging from earrings, necklaces, bracelets to engagement and wedding rings. However, my recent experience has compelled me to leave a less-than-satisfactory review. While I typically wouldn't consider leaving a negative review, the incident left a sour taste in my mouth and made me seriously question whether I should continue making future purchases at this store.On July 7th, I visited Michael Hill to purchase an anklet as a birthday gift for my fiancée. After a disappointing experience with another jewelry store upstairs, I thought I could rely on Michael Hill for better customer service. Upon entering, I was promptly greeted, and the staff showed me their limited selection of anklets. It was surprising to learn that they didn't carry many options, especially during the summer season when anklets are in high demand for weddings and beach outings. However, that wasn't the main issue for this review.Two days later, I realized the anklet was too big for my fiancée's ankles and needed to be resized. I returned to Michael Hill with my fiancée, hoping for a quick adjustment as they had never charged me for sizing down in the past since gold is being removed. Unfortunately, this time was different.The salesperson who helped me with the anklet seemed unsure of the cost and initially quoted me $60. When I questioned why I was being charged for a reduction in size, as no gold was being added, and mentioned that I had never paid for such adjustments before, the response was dismissive. They consulted another staff member, who asked about the material of the anklet and determined that, since it was 10k gold, the cost would be around $100. This involved soldering, removing links, resoldering, and polishing. I was also informed that I should have had the anklet sized before purchasing it.It is important to note that as a birthday gift, I had no way of knowing the exact size needed without ruining the surprise. The overall attitude of the employee during the discussion about the material and cost was rude and unhelpful. This entire experience has made me seriously reconsider whether Michael Hill is the right store for our future jewelry purchases.Feeling disappointed, I decided to explore another option and visited Fibbas Jewelers, located below London Drugs in the same mall. The owner, Simon, provided exceptional service and expressed shock at the pricing discrepancy. He assured me that resizing the anklet at his store would cost only $30, as it did not come from his establishment. Additionally, he mentioned that polishing has always been done free of charge.I share this review as a cautionary tale to others considering jewelry purchases. Moving forward, I will be exploring other stores and their policies and pricing before making any future jewelry investments.Note: This review is based on my personal experience and may not reflect the overall quality of service at Michael Hill Jewelers.

Limited selections in store and they offer better items and/or prices online. Was advised to buy online and pick up in store after about a couple of weeks. Store attendant was very helpful.

Ordered a heart pendant online for click and collect, got it in the store and as soon as I stepped out and actually looked at the necklace, it was covered in scratches and the edges were very worn, you could clearly tell this product was not new. I could not believe that any store would provide a used product and think it’s okay to give to a customer. The employee offered an exchange for another item in the store, I declined as I would rather not buy from a company that is okay with passing off used jewellery as new.

I would like share my wonderful experience at Michael hill with Tammy. She was very helpful and provided exceptional customer service. She helped me find the perfect ring. I would come back to Michael Hill just because of her. She explained the warranty plan in great detail and made sure I understood everything. Thank you Tammy.

We came in a few days ago and were helped by a very charming and helpful young lady named Krista. She went above and beyond with her service and made it work for us. I don't know much about jewelry but she was very patient and knowledgeable about everything we talked about. Will definitely be referring friends and family to her and coming back ourselves!!

Save yourself and do not buy a ring from Michael Hill. My morganite stone fell out and I had the ring for 17 months. That was the last thing my father gave me before he passed away. The cost to replace the stone is the same amount of the ring. They were supposed to call me but didn’t even do that. Save yourself and go somewhere else.
