Great school, lots of extracurriculars, kind staff and great students. Alexander’s review is completely ridiculous and she clearly knows nothing about French Immersion, kids are taught the same material as normal schools but in French. English was also taught separately.“Kids who never speak French...?” Speaking French is kind of mandatory in a FRENCH IMMERSION school, in my time here (I took extended French, grades 7-8) I made massive improvements in my French language skills (with absolutely no sacrifice to my English skills...)If you want your child to learn a language that will stay with them for the rest of their lives, go to this school.

From my experience the school counselor support system for students wasn't consistent at all, the max amount of times I went into the counsellors office in 2022 was a grand total of 3. Aside from that, the teachers were mainly really great! Although, a teacher here did threaten to chop off both of my thumbs. I'm being serious. I was in the 3rd grade. Pushing that aside, the rest of the teachers are really supportive of the LGBTQ+ community & strive to educate their students on the importance of pride month & the history and importance the community brings, coming from someone whos in the LGBTQ+ community myself, I felt very safe in this school. Onto the students- in my experience they were overall okay, though I never really became close with any of my peers, although it depends on who you are and the people around you- this is just a biased perspective. Onto the education, I was never a student that excelled in anything aside from art & music, though I'd HIGHLY recommend- if you sent your child here in JK-SK, the school is 82% French & learning a new language as someone whos older is quite difficult & a total shock. Overall, the education is really immersive & the teachers are really eager to help students & always treat you with respect & kindness. The school also accommodates people with Autism, ADHD, ect. I cannot speak from experience if the accommodation is good or not, all I know is that our school accommodates people with neurodivergency. In conclusion, sending your child here wouldn't be a bad decision, though always make sure you have other options just incase, all schools have their ups & downs and truthfully, I'm glad that I was apart of LAFI.Hope this was helpful!

It's a school beside kipps lane. Wouldn't send my kids here if I had the choice . French emersion just yeilds kids who neither speak French nor are they as good at math and science. Spelling and English Grammer. .. teach your kids in a school of their primary language ...

Despite being in a typically 'rough' neighbourhood, this school has been wonderful and better than the other 2 I've dealt with. The staff are mostly all amazing, genuinely care about the students and their well-being. The office staff is always helpful and kind, the librarian knows almost every kids name, the janitor likes to share jokes with my daughter when they see each other in the hall and the school itself is very large. They have lots of different activity rooms for rainy days, an adequate library and full music room. I'm so glad I sent my daughter here. And don't listen to that other review, she is a very smart cookie and is great in her primary language and doing very well in French. This is a much better way of learning the language than typical public schools who don't start until Grade 3 (not when kids are most adaptable to language) and they only get a few hours a week. They try to teach words and then grammar and sentence structure but it never sticks. I support French Immersion if you want your kids to be able to speak French.@Alexander Lock - I find it amusing that you say French Immersion children aren't as good at spelling or grammar, yet you can't spell the word grammar. You misspelled immersion and your grammar itself is terrible. Perhaps you should have gone to French immersion or at least paid attention in your English class?
