Calder Centre

I just got out of there last week. One week ago today, actually. It was a great place to be for a month. It kept me away from drinking. The staff were great. Because of COVID, they were operating at under 50% capacity (the rooms normally have two clients, but it was only one person per room. Not all the rooms were full either.), which was nice because I got to know the other clients and staff really well. The only issue I have with this place is that it is very 12-step heavy. I'm not going to put down 12-step programs, but a 12-step program doesn't work for everyone. I was constantly told at Calder to find my own path to sobriety, but AA is the only way. It was weird. Also, I only had one one-on-one session. The rest were group sessions and classes. There are things people want to talk about that they may not feel comfy bringing up in a group setting.
