Sport Chek

The kid in the shoe department showed exponential experience in finding a pair of runners for off and on road terrain that suits my training. I’d like to give Tristan a shout out for going out of his way when the store was 10 minutes from closing to assist me and get the runners I needed for my marathon training. Very helpful and kind employee.

Wonderful large store that had what I needed in stock

Asked for help to find an item in the back. Staff left me sit for 30min+. The manger walked past me 3 times never once asked me if I was helped. The staff persons feet never hit the floor. Another staff member checked on it and they didn’t have what I needed and the other rep. “Forgot” to tell me.

Took a pair of CCM skates for a return within 60 days that were purchased online through Sports Chek. CCM had directed me to take them to a Sports Chek outlet directly when I wrote them about the defect. Spencer, assistant manager in the Okotoks Sports Chek who dealt with me, refused to provide any solution to the problem with the skates, but that's another story.So I asked for a note from the Sports Chek store that they refused to offer any solution so that I could go back to CCM. Spencer said that he spoke with the manager Michael and they promised to email me some statement to that effect. Email has never been received.2023-03-20 Update - Adam Woods, a regional manager, contacted me to sort this out. He was fantastic and helped me get the skates exchanged through the Shaganappi store. Excellent experience so upgraded rating but was still disappointed with staff in this Okotoks store.

The store was bright and clean, an employee greeted me right away at the door. Whe. I went to the shoe section, I was again greeted right away. A young gentleman named Pearson was very friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. When we couldn't find what I needed, he suggested a substitute that I think was a better idea anyway.

Came in the other day to buy a pair of skate's, the worker spencer who helped me was very Helpful and knowledgeable, gave them a great sharpen too!

Dropped my snowboard off to get waxed last Tuesday and they said to come pick it up the following Tuesday. I noted as long as it was done before the Friday I was all good. My Wife stopped by the following Wednesday to pick it up and it still wasn't done, she mentioned that it was already over a week and that her Husband would be back the following day to pick it up as. I was going to the hill on the Friday. I showed up late Thursday afternoon and it still wasn't done. They could barely find my board in the back. I ended up taking my snowboard back and when trying to speak to a manager, of course nobody in the store available. Close to 1.5 weeks aint enough to wax a snowboard i guess. That's my review!!!

A well run Sport Chek with friendly and knowledgeable staff who are always available and eager to help. The store is always organized and clean. Love shopping here.
