Fred Astaire Dance Studio

My husband and I took lessons for our wedding in June and continued in the social program. We learned a lot and had a lot of fun every day. Our instructor, Kyle, was fun, patient, and very helpful! Would recommend if you're looking for a date night out ☺️

My wife and I have been clients for over 12 years and still love every lesson! The teachers and staff are amazing. Our dancing continues to improve as we work on our silver level. Far too often we’ve encountered people good at doing something, but they lack the ability to teach it. Fred Astaire’s teachers are highly trained teachers in addition to being wonderful dancers, a rare combination; they are skilled at finding the best way to bring out your inner dancer. Our lessons give us so much we feel we’re getting great value for our dancing dollars.

My fiancé and I came to Fred Astaire to prepare for our First Dance for our wedding. Our teacher was Rachel and she was AMAZING. From the moment we met her, she made us feel comfortable, and relaxed and taught us so much! She has such a personality that she made each lesson so fun! We will definitely be back in the new year as we wish to do some lessons for fun!

I have always loved to dance but I never thought of taking lessons myself and then I thought it was too late to start. Who starts dance lessons at the age of 40 or 52? I did! From my first lesson at Fred Astaire Dance Studio in Kitchener I knew this was something I was meant to do. I came back eagerly to learn all my Social Ease patterns and couldn’t wait to try them out socially. When Miss Heather suggested I take part in the Fall competition, I almost bit her hand off saying yes. The whole team of students had a magical weekend in Niagara Falls and I wanted more.Fred Astaire’s method of teaching is structured and there is a set curriculum. But what I love is that the teachers personalize the lessons for each student and that student’s particular goals. I watch other students dancing patterns I haven’t learnt yet, but I trust that my teacher is introducing me to new technique and new steps when I am ready for them. I can feel the support and encouragement from the whole team working together to make my experience the best it can be.There are days that I think there is no way I am in the right frame of mind for a dance lesson. That all goes away when I walk through the studio door, hear the music and see the smiles on everyone’s faces. Not just the teachers, but the students too. I often stay and watch just to absorb some of the joy emanating from the students on the studio dance floor.I am so grateful to Mr. Fox and all the teachers who have helped make my lifelong dream come true. Being able to watch my teachers Mr. Fox and Miss Ripley dance in competition and in the monthly party showcases is a bonus.

We were so happy we made the decision to take dance lessons before our wedding! Jeff, our instructor, is not only a really great teacher but also super nice. He was very patient with us (as we didn't know how to dance at all) and put our nerves at ease. You won't regret signing up for lessons.

So much fun! My wife and I wish we would’ve learned to dance earlier! We look so good dancing now in only a few lessons. Our instructor Rachel is out going and fun! We look forward every week to go dancing. If you go ask for Rachel to teach you. Thank you so much for giving me the confidence to tear up the dance floor now!

Honestly, I couldn't recommend any other dance studio, Rachel helped us create the perfect first dance for our wedding. Mrs Anderson and her staff truly care about their students and want everyone who comes through those doors to succeed at THEIR pace. Take advantage of their introduction package, try it out, you won't regret it.

We have nothing but great things to say about this studio. All of the staff are so pleasant and encouraging. Our instructor, Jeff, is simply fantastic! He is patient, personable, and very encouraging. Going in with no prior experience, we feel like we are learning quickly, thanks to Jeff’s excellent teaching approach. My partner and I have been learning various ballroom and latin dances at the Kitchener Fred Astaire since our wedding over 6 years ago. The teachers at the studio are both amazing dancers and amazing teachers. We now know 9 dances pretty well, and often show off our moves at our friends' weddings and other events. Between the classes, the parties, the competitions, the performances, and more, there's an endless amount of fun and self-development to be had.

My Fiancé and I got a gift card for Fred Astaire's for Christmas to work on dancing for our wedding. I wasn't to keen on learning how to dance. That changed when I arrived. We are blown away by the expertise, professionalism and tailored lesson plans our instructor gives us every time we go for a 40 minutes lesson. The facility they have is clean and presents a friendly no judgment atmosphere which instantly increased my level of confidence in my noobish dancing skills.
