Ray is an amazing teacher. His method works well for my 11yr old daughter. She is able to pick up songs faster, play with feeling and keep the correct rhythm and time as she learns. His studio has a positive atmosphere where students can learn at their own pace, and he has great communication with parents. I highly recommend Ray as a piano teacher for any learner at any level.

Ray Ross was recommended for my teenage son by another trusted music teacher. I’m so happy we found him. Our son has major anxiety and other issues but has wanted to learn an instrument. This has been a great place for him. He feels safe and respected. He has learned so much in a little time from Ray. Mr Ross teaches with kindness and enthusiasm. Myself and my 3 kids have been taking piano with Ray for 2 years now. We all love it! He's a great teacher for my young children, my teen, and myself. My kids absolutely love his group lesson format, and I've seen them improve so much since it's been implemented. As a mom who was looking for something to do for herself (but having the busy schedule mom's do) Ray recognizes that as an adult student, I need to be able to set the pace. He does a great job at helping me accomplish my goals without pushing too hard when life gets crazy.I would 100% recommend prairie piano to anyone I know!

Ray is an incredibly talented piano teacher! His passion for teaching is evident as each week our 3 boys eagerly look forward to going to their weekly lesson. Ray has been teaching my son piano for over 5 years. I had been working alongside Ray in an afterschool care setting when I heard him playing a piano in the gymnasium. What a talented pianist!! I asked if he taught lessons, and lucky for us he did.My son is doing great in his program and has progressed to the point where theory has been introduced, and the best part is he still loves it. Ray has a fabulous rapport with the kids and is able to roll with the punches. I wanted my son to be somewhat classically trained but also have the ability to play by ear, and he implemented that in the lessons. He also listens to my son on what he wants out of piano and implements that too; right now it is learning some songs he likes to listen to.Another great thing about Ray is he saw some holes in how my son was learning, and I will admit he should practice more than he does. Last year Ray started a group class that was longer and would make up somewhat when the practicing at home is waning, and he is doing better than ever! Before he implemented this new class he called and we chatted about his idea and wanted to know how we felt about it. He is a great mentor to my son and we are so fortunate to have him in our lives as he grows up.

Ray is phenomenal! We have had past piano teachers that we have liked but with Ray we have fallen in love! He is so patient and kind and teaches in a way that my children understand and enjoy. I would reccomend him to anyone that wants the very best for their or their children's piano learning experience!

We have had the pleasure of enrolling our 10 year old son in Ray’s classes at Prairie Piano Studio. What a wonderful change it has been! Ray makes music lessons convenient for parents and fun for kids. We have three kids in the accelerated piano lab program, so they all go at the same time. They’re all at different levels and have different needs, but somehow Ray has figured out a way to teach them all effectively.
